Well, wait. It's easy.
Let us have a good day so he can come back anytime. 🌌🧳💨
If he has gone far out into the sky, it will be hard for him to come back. The universe is a big place.
If not, we will look forward to day because the earthlings told us that he will return as a ghost on Halloween.🎃🕳🦇
Perhaps he will look forward to such an SG and return someday.

Hoped he just got busy or inconvenienced by something, or even arrested - anything that meant he's alive. But was afraid this is the case.
icaio "played the hooman role for 53 years" and hopefully enjoyed them to the fullest.
paraphrased icaio's words from one of his birthday giveaways created in early June 2024:
june 26: if still alive, i'd have played the hooman role for 53 years. thank you.

This one added a new layer to the situation.
Icaio was one of the rare people who made me stay here. I enjoyed his 1P Giveaways and would tease him every time I could find one of those.
I guess we should close our eyes and consider that we're lucky to have met him and he will stay alive within our memories. I know I won't forget about him, his kindness and sense of humor was a blessing.

This really hurts. He was always an amazing human being to interact with. Rest in peace buddy.

Rough news, but thanks for sharing. Hope he's at peace and happy, wherever he's now.

Life is really cruel, one day you're spamming the forums and the next you're gone. I knew basically nothing of him except he was italian like me and seemed a really sunny person. I hope you had a great life and going away wasn't too bad. Che la terra ti sia lieve Caio.

Hey all. I am going to start by saying that I do not have any more information than what I am sharing in this post.
EDIT: as it turns out, I do have some more information
ANOTHER EDIT, just a quick update
As some of you know, icaio has not been on SG for a while, and he hasn't logged into his Steam profile either.
I posted on his Steam profile a few weeks ago, just a quick note saying I hoped he was okay.
Yesterday I received a friend request on Steam from someone I did not recognize. I didn't see any obvious red flags, so I accepted.
This new friend sent me a message today, saying that they were icaio's cousin, and they saw my post on his profile and wanted to let me know that icaio passed away on September 30.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that icaio was an absolute legend of Steamgifts. His generosity, sense of humor and thoughtfulness came through in every 'showerthinking' post and every 'trash' game giveaway and every time he helped to solve a derailment in the community train.
Before I visited Rome a few years ago, caio volunteered to give me his mobile number so I could ask him real-time questions while I was in Italy. And that's exactly what I did! So we didn't quite get a chance to actually meet in person, but it was fun to chat with him while we were in the same country.
Not much more to say right now. Just R.I.P. to icaio, he will always be a Steamgifts legend.
