Do you comment on giveaways?

I guess that person gets too many messages in their GAs and just automatically blacklists anyone who writes one now? I know some people say how they don't want any messages unless you win. I have done the same as you did a few times and never got blacklisted for it, nor would I blacklist someone who's just trying to be helpful, unless I did warn beforehand that I would.

I'm totally with you on this man. I'm really frustrated with some people here. They are like "you said Hi and I'm gonna blacklist you".
idk what's wrong with people they just blacklist you out of nowhere like you're living your life and not doing anything to anybody and they blacklist you.
It's doesn't matter buddy. After seeing things like these with only about 9 months being here, I too rather not comment or say anything anywhere on this site most of the time. Examples of people like that include some big contributors to this great site unfortunately. Sometimes they think they are the elite and better than others just because they give away a lot.

What some people don't understand is that generosity in the best way is moral not material. They don't deserve your attention mate.

I commented few times on some giveaways. Usually in games I am really excited about. It seems a bit excessive to blacklist an user just for commenting on a giveaway.

I sometimes comment in some giveaways I enter, basically to say thanks. I understand if some people don't like it, but they could just make a note.ñ warning about it.

To blacklist somebody that was actually informing you of something useful is overboard

I'd do the same as you did as this is relevant information for the giveaway. Power gifters get often annoyed about thank you messages as many suspect them to be from bots/autojoiners so I stay silent if not encouraged to comment.

It's not what you say, it's how you say it.

The person who BL'd you probably didn't take it as you were giving advice and just wanted to make sure you couldn't enter the GA, especially if they are someone that's new to SG. Some community members, even ones that have been here for a bit don't know about DLC giveaways etc. Don't let that get to you too much.

I'm always happy when someone comments anything positive or helpful. If someone blacklists for something like that.. They have 12 arseholes. One at each fingertip, one replacing the brain.. and then the usual dumper ofc.

Have a good day stranger 👍

Better not assume normal behavior on sg, that lower your frustration.

General rule, you comment, you get blacklisted.
And the other ones will in general take your words in the most negative way it is possible.

Of course that rule don't count for the nice people here but they are, clearly and sadly, the minority.

Ps.: I comment a lot in GA's and threads and i got a lot of BL for that... but in the end the most cut in their own flesh because they can't enter my GA's, BL block my GA's for them too :-D

I actually love it when I receive comments on my giveaways. I see it as people enjoying my giveaways. What type of person do you have to be in order to blacklist someone who says “thank you” for something you’re offering to them. I just can’t comprehend that type of mentality.

And let’s be serious.. how many messages can you possibily get in order to get annoyed? I have around 30 active giveaways and every 2-3 hours when I check the site, I have 2-3 new comments. Is that really bothering to some?!

Someone blacklisted me because I “seek attention”. I have no idea how that person got to that conclusion, but I guess they share the same diva mentality as the ones OP speaks about. Anything and anyone will bother them. Just blacklist them back and get over it.

But I think I speak in the majority when I say that most people will enjoy receiving comments on their giveaways.

Many users ended up on my whitelist after leaving a nice, funny or interesting comment.

Same. I even like the one-word 'thanks!', etc, messages. It might not much but I appreciate it.

One of the strange ones I got was I had three public giveaways set up, and I got 3 exact same "Thanks!" messages on all of them and all within the same minute from the same user. It just made me skeptical I guess.

But in general I don't mind even a simple thanks, although a more in depth message is usually more appreciated. No message is perfectly cool too, if you don't really have anything to say, you shouldn't need to feel forced to say anything.

I've made the same post on various GAs as well provided no one else has already done so. People have done the same on my GAs. Its a good thing.

Some people do post they do not want any comments unless you win. In those cases I'm assuming they are aware of the potential issue and I say nothing.

I generally never just say "thanks" in a GA unless I win. I will comment if the giver has asked a question. I have something other then a generic thanks to say or if I have played the game and its an indi gem more people should be aware of. 😄

Don't let that stop you from commenting, especially when it's helpful comments like the one that got you blacklisted.

My general rule when it comes to posting on GAs pages is to only post when I have something to contribute. Some people can get quickly overwhelmed with inbox overflow when they make a lot of GAs at the same time.
This being said, sometimes you can read the room. If the gifter is not including any comment in the OP, I usually don't comment. It probably means they're not really open to comments or that they don't speak English properly.
If it's a group or WL GA and I am friendly with the gifter, I'll leave a message (although that also got me in trouble but that's a different story)

In any case, here's my tip about blacklists: you'll get blacklisted, no way to avoid it. So learn not to care and make lots of great GAs that your blacklister won't be able to enter ;) Best way to get over blacklists.
