Retro region lock or?

Hey guys, first of all ism on phone so text is maybe broken and also no GA

I have long time (few months) in inventory gift of Interstellar Marines it was normal without region lock, no any mark or smth.. Now i check inv and i can see near my Interstellar Marines gift red marker with "yo n00b its restricted gift blah blah.. Ru/cis" i tried abd i cant add, its really locked. What the????
I do not remember where i got it, but its sick. From row to ru? Or it was ru whole time and just miss tag?
Its rlly annoying bcs that means for me... Gift wasted. These stupid regions killing me.

Thank u for any info about this wietd smth. Happens to u aswell sometime? Or why it hapens? O.o

It shouldn't swap regions all of the sudden. You probably just missed the tag at first. You could try to contact steam support, but I'm not sure if they'll actually help (because, you know, steam support).

Steam support.. Wait 20 years to robotic reply simulator:) i have it in inv for months.. It was without tag for sure i can bet my steam acc :D now appeated ru tag and i really dont know why.. Iam angry, not bcs game, but bcs principle. Regions -_-

Is it one of those where you activated the game and got gift copies in your inventory? A while back those started getting region locked to the area of the person who activated the 4-pack or whatever but it didn't always display as such. So the gift was probably region locked all along but it is only now saying so.

Its marked as "gift" in description so its any bonus copy.. But i dont own this game so its from trade.. Really long time ago. So yeah.. This is reason maybe. Lol steam really getting funny with region things, they are as sick. I hope its first and last gift

I think they did it because a lot of Russian traders were buying cheap 4 packs and then selling ROW gifts. It was really great and I got a lot of cheap games, but it probably was an exploit. Overall I'd agree that all the region locks suck though and it was really bad that a lot of the region locked gifts after the change weren't marked - I know a bunch of people who got caught out.

I have nothing vs russia pipolz but its not normal all this about ru... Game added to bundle list bcs russia prices... Region locks bcs russian prices... Incerease prices in ru a bit and its solved. This is only annoying for all us. Russia prices destroy all.. In ru u can buy insurgecny 4 pack on full price cheaper than in eu 1 copy xD its totally mad.. Pay that much extra for nothhing and steam is curious why all need those copies :DDD yes we really want pay XY€ extra for nothing

Multipack gifts weren't showing region locks previously, Valve now made them do so. It was basically always locked, you just didn't know.

;_; yea got it, totally bad... So locked gifts without marker are now marked.. "Fixed".. Noice :)))
