An emulator in HTML5? Impressive. The amount of HTML5 stuff grows.
Still, since it lets you play actual games there without supplying them yourself, isn't that that just like linking to ROMs?

It's legal because science has proven it's legal. So that's why it's legal.

HTML5 is actually totally unnecessary for this -- it can be made in previous 'versions'. The html version is generally irrelevant -- the other stuff like js is what matters. HTML has no logic...its just a markup language. Its just currently trendy to plaster 'HTML5' on everything due to marketing.

We already have had the vector based version of this (SVG). My point stands...HTML5 is nothing special...its not what makes things like this possible. I mean obviously we've had the ability to do these things before '5', as we've had stuff like this for a long time now...much earlier then '5'.

Its just hot right now because companies are pushing it for marketing reasons. Its obviously been working.

I feel like the internet was a beta test till this point.
Now I can return to Pokemon Red, raise a charmander, and live happily ever after.

Emulators were always legal. Acquiring ROMs that you don't own a physical copy of is illegal.
