Just a heads up: The game just got delisted from Steam, and HumbleBundle is doing a final sale for it that is going to end in less then 10 hours. If you still want a copy, now might be your last chance.

EDIT: And that's it, game is now gone from HumbleBundle site as well.

so right now there is no spider-man game on steam? why do I have a strange feeling that some of the spider-man games that were once on steam will return as soon as Homecoming releases? I mean, Deadpool was in a similar situation.

Yea it's very possible it could come back later, but there's no guarantees. There's a few games I would like to have that were pulled years ago and never came back.

Actually, I just bought two copies of Korra today because it's on sale and after Platinum Games TMNT was pulled I get the feeling Korra might be next.

Oh I should buy a copy too. It's never been 75% off before.
Always was 50%.

Actually Shattered Dimensions was 75% off on Steam once. I bought it last April for $7.49. It's still sad to see Activision keep pulling their games. I wanted to get TMNT Mutants in Manhattan, but didn't want to spend $19.99, which is the cheapest I ever saw it sell for.

Oh no. I meant Korra has never been 75% off.

Wasn't Spiderman SD 75% for like one day?
I think it was the only day I wasn't on steam/didn't have money.

I bought it for 15$ like 2 months ago, because I was scared it would be pulled.

It was a short sale but I don't remember if it was the daily deal or a midweek/weekend special. I just remember being excited about the sale and shocked that Activision actually discounted past 50%.

Korra has definitely been 75% off several times. I bought it, twice.

I'm calling it now: The game will return in time for (if not Homecoming) the next Avengers movie. Or the one after that. Or the sequel to Homecoming. Or, you know... sometime in the future.

In the very far future maybe. (See my post in the thread. :p)

If you turn out to be correct, be sure to spam your Prophecy and "I told you so" across SG. :)
Seriously.. These are the kind of Publisher patterns I like to be aware of.

A lot of people here think it will come back.
I am 90% sure that it WON'T come back. (Which is why I bought it like 2 months ago when it was on sale on steam)
If it ever did, it might be years before it comes back.

Sony has publishing rights for Spiderman games ATM. It's why the new Spiderman game being made will PS4 EXCLUSIVE.

Activision no longer has rights to Spiderman, it's why the AMAZING Spiderman games were removed months ago. (No idea why Spiderman SD wasn't removed with them though)

I'm glad I bought them all during the same "build you own bundle" HB sale together with the TMNT games too.

It really was. I hope they bring back the "build your own bundle" deals because those are the most attractive in my opinion considering you get to choose what you really want.

That's not quite how it works, Sony got the rights to publish a single Spiderman game developed by Insomniac but that does not exclude Marvel from licensing Spiderman out to anyone else or even for Activision to renew it for their games. It's not like the movie universe. They just probably didn't think it was worth it right now with the new Sony Spiderman game coming out for Homecoming, a year later or so they might renew the rights for whatever reason. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ah okay.
Still unless Marvel is getting more picky with their licensing. And unless they partner with Activision for another Spiderman game again, I don't see why Activision would try to renew it just to sell old games.

"No idea why Spiderman SD wasn't removed with them though"
-> probably licensed at different time and for different duration, so Shattered DImensions' license didn't expire until now.

For Marvel (and/or Sony), getting the license revoked/aborted would take work and probably carries legal consequences, where letting it expire and just not renewing takes no effort at all.
For Activision, well, they may decide they got their money's worth and not invest in renewing, but they also have nothing to gain by killing off the contract prematurely.

Well, Activision lost the rights to Deadpool before - and that game came back, although years later.

I already bought it for €6,75 in November last year during one of HB's build your own bundle sales, just to have it on Steam too and not have to keep track of my old DVD. The current price of €9,89 considering the game's age is absurd. However, the game is totally worth it and I've already completed it about five times thus far over the years and I still enjoy playing it from time to time. Therefore I totally recommend it to anyone interested.

Start up PC (I do not remember my pass to humble so wouldn't be able to login into store ;p) and buy it b4 it's too late, add the fact that my PC froze after boot and had to reboot - it was a stressful morning :D:

So I'm still waiting for my key for this game:

"We have run out of Steam keys for Spider-Man™: Shattered Dimensions. We are getting more ASAP. We will have Steam keys for you as soon as they are available again! "

Anyone think these will get restocked, or should I contact Humble for a refund?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

License is gone, so Activision's no longer allowed to sell it. Restocking seems very unlikely as a result; I'd request a refund if I were you.
