Thanks for ThreadSpace! The abbreviation part was a lucky guess lol
What's IELTS?

Damn, that's not too bad, actually. I myself got an 8.0 when I had to take the IELTS so I can go to University. I kinda messed up the reading exam, where I got a 6.5. Thankfully, my school only needed a total score of 6, with at least 5 in each category.
BTW, what was your reason for taking the test? Are you going to university as well?

That's awesome, I'm assuming with those scores that you got in. Congrats.
I dunno, I guess some testers have different standards or whatever. I surprisingly did well in my speaking test (I wasn't too confident with my performance), but I thought my reading scores were a bit low. but yeah, an 8.0 overall isn't too bad.
What are you going to major in once you start? I still have no clue at what I'm going to take at the moment, despite the fact that the semester is about to start in a few weeks lol

But i assume studying in US college is quite expensive anyway, even it is a very lame one. Wish you good luck tho!
Im leaving UA in august, moving to China. My main reason was to get a PhD somewhere outside Ukraine, but since my second wish was to learn some oriental language i ended up with Chinese. Had thought about South Korea but there you need to have a good knowledge of Korean at the start. I also got a scholarship, so its quite comfortable for me :D

This is actually kinda entertaining. intelligent conversation between two people while each of them throw games at the fastest person. Never would have seen that coming.

Don't worry bud, I've been an ESL teacher for several years and none of my former students have had trouble getting in to Uni with 8.x scores.

How does an ESLT exam compare to a level-C2 English exam of Cambridge? Just out of curiosity.

Big congratulations to you! Took it myself at christmas last year since I've moved from Denmark to the UK - scored an 8.5 myself...6.5 in writing and 9 in the rest...pretty sure it's my handwriting that screwed me. Agree that 8 and above should give a good impression to whoever is reviewing your application.

Congratulations!
I have an exam on monday, haven't studied one bit yet and don't really intend to. I'll just win the lottery. Or start a life of crime. Maybe both. With the money I won at the lottery I'll finance my life of crime, thus making even more money. Or I'll make sure I win the lottery by using the money I make as a criminal. As you can see, I plan ahead. My life is set.
