As it says in title, as long as you have a visa card on file with GOG and you spend at least 25 dollars on the site, you may be able to claim a copy of Children of Morta free. It started with 53,000 copies, so act fact.

Nothing is ever free. Regardless with the promotion, if you spend $25 USD, you get a BONUS game which in this case would mean it's FREE. So my previous statement still stands.

Nothing is ever free.

That's a very weird statement on the site for winning games.

What about public roads? They are free to walk on, but you'll probably want to buy shoes before, wouldn't you?

Actually, I've walked without shoes on roads, that's quite enjoyable. Sadly, people are pigs so in most areas you'd still better wear shoes... not because of the road per se, but because of the crap on it 👀

Why you'll want to buy shoes is not my point! Public roads are free, not bonus with your shoes!
The promotion says you need to spend $25 or €21 to grab a key, and Mayanaise says it's not free but bonus ; but what about refunding what you bought? Would you say that you didn't got a free game because a Visa credit card is required, and this card is not free?

but what about refunding what you bought?

If this really works without negative consequences, then sure. Many similar offers will state something like "if you refund the order, we take back the 'free' stuff as well", though.

Would you say that you didn't got a free game because a Visa credit card is required, and this card is not free?

Don't forget it also requires : internet, some kind of computer, electricity, etc.
But actually, the Visa card requirement is debatable indeed, as you're not only required to own one, but to provide its details (so you "pay" with private data)

About the refund, there's a limited amount of keys, and they said how many (53k), so if they take back one key, they're no longer giving the said amount : there's a reasoning bug here : they can't say both "we will give 53k" and "we will take back some of the 53k in precise situations".

And if instead of a refund of the paid part of the order I cancel my credit card ? The "private data" would be of no use then...

The government made a giveaway for the ownership of public roads? I thought they were for public use made by the government, meaning that they're quite literally not free and not free to own.

Shoes have nothing to do with nothing. We're not talking about the tools needed to use something, we're talking about the thing we use.

Yes, I'm not talking about shoes, but about the wording free / bonus => everyone understand what one means when talking about a free public road, even if everyone knows there's nothing free (it's paid with taxes).

So this is just a bonus game and not really a free game. At least a nice bonus for those that planned to buy something in gog this month i guess.

So you really don't get it? You spend $25 on something else you want and get this for free. You're not spending $25 on this game

With promos like this, I wish they would publicly show many slots are left.
(Or at least have a total tally of eligible customers that are taking advantage of it).

Since it began on the 17th, it's hard to know whether you'd miss it after spending $25.

The only GOG games on sale that interest me is Greedfall (won't play it right now) and Divinity 2 (already own it)

Greedfall is very tempting. I'm a little, well actually a lot, surprised that it was sold on Xbox Store for around $10 during a recent big sale and its available for about $12 right now.

It doesn't appear to say anything about pre-orders, so I guess I could order Cyberpunk and get Morta (which I do want) as an excuse.

EDIT: Right, well I went ahead and did it. Can always cancel if they've run out of codes!
