I used to get these invites frequently. Just click Ignore. Or if you'd like, accept the invite, ask why they added you, then report them to Steam for harassment or scam when they tell you they want your money.

Copy paste texts, redirecting to some shady chats, asking for favors and whatnot. 100% ALL OF THEM scam. Why even bother.
Just ignore or delete afterwards. Scum of the internet.

Lots of scammers on Telegram. It's good tech, but the daily spam requests I get on there are insane. And I've given up on Whatsapp entirely.
Yeah, as others said, ignore those requests. There's a good chance that this is an account that got phished and taken over, and now scammers are trying to use it as an entry point to get you to jump from Steam to another platform where they can really try to extract your money.

It's not exactly only 1 person, there are more than one and it's also automated with bots. It's just a classic modern scam on steam. (As someone else mentioned the profile per say isn't scammers but hacked account because they did go to that telegram, discord or whatever)

Just scammers, like the weird "I hacked your webcam" (I don't even own one) emails I keep getting. If there is a channel of communication, there are scammers. Just ignore them.

I've had some odd friend requests in the past
Steam specific
1) The general request that ends with them trying to get me to click on an obviously scam link
This can either be the "You won something" or "I accidentally reported you" type of chat 🙄
2) The "please add me to your Steam family" beggars
3) The "please send me a game or money" beggars
4) People who have added me simply because of my level 🤷
5) People who have added me who have a lot of playtime in DOTA or CSGO, and just never message me 🤷
6) This is a more specific one: I've had a few people add me simply to ask for 100%ing advice in games, and what game they should buy based on how achievable the 100% for the game is, and if DLCs are required, haha.
Discord specific
"I like your profile picture. Did you design it?"
"I'm a designer and was wondering if you would like to commission me to design a new picture or logo for you"
I've gotten SO many of these damn messages -_-

I know all the stuff (Nr. 6 excluded), it was ultra annoying and i changed something a few years ago.
Don't accept friend requests from people that you not know from somewhere and/or never wrote with you before and/or don't wrote into your comments (if you have them activated in the steam profile).
This way the problem is 99% lower as without this tiny change and much better for the mood too.

For the second time now this person has added me and follows the same dialogue with the same questions. She/he/it changes their name and avatar a lot and I'm guessing they don't think I remember them but I do. For one on the profile page the telegram is easily rememberable. I don't use telegram or any social media really but they seem interested in getting people to visit them on telegram. Anyway it's quite odd to me, does anyone else get weird invites like this? The profile seems fake to be honest 900 hours of CS2 and not much beyond that.
