I don't think uplay supports preload (no encryption support).
Apperantly there's hack that let's you download and play too.

It all boils down to this, that uPlay sucks and steam rocks. Steam>origin>uPlay

There should be standard so single client, could connect to all services.

Why don't we have this?! Let us link steam, origin, and uPlay accounts. Why would uBisoft even bother with such a horrible client already?! Rather than getting it popularity, they are more off getting their own users to exit due to technical bugs.

Yeah, because Steam is so awesome that its features help really to much. I mean really, isn't that awesome that you can get an in-game browser? Or those awesome trading cards and badges? How about the great profiles with people showing off their rich status? I mean, who wouldn't just love all of these stuff? Oh, wait...

Pre-load is sometimes in "parts" I remember preloading some Steam game (sorry forgot name), it had only 500mb or so, the next day another 1.5gb preload appeared and then finally 4gb. Could be the same case here or just....bugged.

I personally have never had issues with AC3 on PC. The next gen versions will surely raise the graphical standard though, so hopefully the game will have no/fewer optimisation issues.

I've had this game for 360 for like a week, still in package... Was the PC release delayed vs the console version?

Yeah, for some reason it was delayed until the next gen versions are released.

yes apparently the AC4 came out on consoles first and PC later.. I hate it when they do this.. Ok I got a PS3 and my little brother has a 360 but still it would be nice if AC came out on the same bloody day for all platforms.. but i think they want to milk the gamers. First the gamers buy the console version and later the pc version...

My guess is the pre-load through steam simply is a small exe that boots up uPlay to download the game, maybe?

Thought I was being smart by getting a uPlay key instead of Steam. Apparently I was not.
The game releases in 3 hours and I still haven't even received my key! Ubisoft says they'll make it viewable in my order history as soon as the game releases and not a moment sooner.

With how long it took them to get the pre-load situation sorted out, I don't think I'll be playing ACIV anytime soon. At the least a few hours after the release and after I download the entire thing.

Mmh could anyone who got the game thru Uplay confirm me they they have access to their AC4 in Uplay..

I ordered it thru the russian price mistake on RU Ustore and it's linked to my account but I'm wondering if it will be accessible to me in Uplay on the NA release date or the RU release date. Just wondering because my order says the game will appear in my Uplay directly but I got nothing so far.

The game is pretty good, way better than AC3(wich I was unable to complete due to boredome and horrible performance). The optimization is pretty nice too. Im getting around 40 fps at 1600*900 with nearly maxed out settings(AMD HD7770 1gb, 4giga ram(the game is pretty light on ram, only using around 500mb), Phenom X4 B50 3,6ghz)

I'm glad to see that it runs well on AMD cards. I recently upgraded to an R9-270X from a GTS 450, and I heard reports of AC3 running like ass on AMD cards. I'm glad that they fixed that.

I suppose buying it on sale is better than not buying it at all. At least they get some money.
