So someone is selling The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Legendary Edition on SteamTrades and wants 10$ via paypal/PSC/textmessageSMS in return. Is this legit? o.o

Edit: Thanks guy! It's definitely fishy.

Most likely not. Check SteamRep etc?

Tell him to go first.

And yeah, check his SteamRep, but if it doesn't say anything it doesn't necessarily mean he isn't a scammer.

Even if he goes first, the game can be revoked later.

What was the lowest discount Skyrim had?

Comment has been collapsed.

Lowest the base game got was $6ish I believe. I'm tempted to say DLC was only 50% off at one point but I can't confirm, either way, the price tag for Skyrim + all dlc certainly exceeds the $10 asking price. In this case, it's probably too good to be true.

Both Skyrim and the DLC have been sold for 50% off--at different times--in various locations.

I'd be more concerned about a chargeback if the game was bought using a stolen credit card. I think that's more likely in this case than not giving a key at all.

He has a key code.

It seems very fishy. He refused to go first no matter what.

And Russians can't use Paypal on Steam. Paypal is useless for him. So why would he want Paypal?

My guess is that this guy is a total scam, who wouldn't trust a 50+ rep trader, he refuses to go first in any cases.

He is the one pushing the trade, and yet he refuses to go first. I would reject the offer based on that alone.

I've started on steamtrades with a key of the elderscrolls series ( all the games, skyrim included) that i bought for 20€ :P
But I think that i was lucky on trading it, since that day i went 1st, and the other person trade me the gifts after he activated the key (was my first trade, so I was like "forced" to went first...) XD

You got lucky or you just know how to pick the right person. A lot of people had their first trade burnt.

Yeah the guy got scammed (surprise, surprise) but how could you fall for this? It was so obviously a scam. Pretty low to scam someone for a measly 5 quid though.

The offer is from a guy who lies about his location "just for fun." You'd have to be asleep at the wheel to trust this guy.

He did it for $5. And because of this he can forget about ever showing up on Steamtrades.

but he solved his family problems with 5 dollars.

It was most likely a throwaway account, in which case he has lost virtually nothing.

The scam is real.

"Well, sadly yeah ;| First time get scammed so I think it's a tuition fee of $5 for too trusting people without enough proof~ Took the leap of faith and fall flat on the face lol
Didn't feel too surprised or broken-hearted tho', somehow I knew it's too good to be true but well, I didn't realize that people could go so low as getting $5 for a ruined reputation :P

Looking at the reports at steamrep somehow made me glad I was not scammed for large sum of money, like $120 or more ;) "

Few days ago a guy offered me the following for Skyrim key: Bioshock Infinite, or Metro Last Light, Rome 2 TW! I checked his steamrep and saw him trade banned. Sounds too good to be true? It usually is. :)

That brings up a couple of questions.

--If someone -rep's my friend falsely, what is the correct response from me as a friend?
