Kinda late to post, but hey, I've had a busy day. Actually a busy month. But I got it done eventually, soooo...

Yep, it's my birthday. And it's Easter. Happens every few years for me. I figured that I should give the day a quick nod, so I put together a short little train really quickly in celebration. Just a few little GAs, and you only have to be level 1 to ride.

Happy Easter, and here's to me surviving another year! 😁😎ðŸĪŠ

Ha ha ha, thanks! 2nd vaccine shot in 2 weeks! I'll be a real Superman then (well, at least for a while...we don't really know how long that immunity lasts)! Take that, COVID!

Happy birthday, grez!

Congratulations for surviving in these especially dangerous times, where people die like flies left and right in this horrible dread of a pandemic.

Yep. I've gotten my first vaccine shot. Second one comes in two weeks. Looking forward to having some immunity for a while. :)

My condolences. Did many of your closed ones die?

Good news there...have had several family members get it, but all were fortunately part of the majority who survived. Most are slowly getting their vaccines now, so hopefully all will be safe soon.

Is all of your family well?

I do not know a single person who has even had it, let alone died from it. And I keep asking people this question, because to me this whole pandemic shenanigans are starting to feel totally ridiculous.

Well, my next door neighbor is an infectious diseases doctor of like 35-40 years, and I have a good friend who is a nurse that works the respiratory wing in the hospital, so she's been involved since the beginning (and has had COVID). I can assure you that it's very real and that the warnings are warranted. That said, many people have panicked when they shouldn't. They should understand the medical advice and follow it, but not freak out. It's a statistics and vectoring issue at the end of the day, so if everyone does what they're supposed to, we get back to some kind of normal life faster.

If you live some place more rural, then there's likely not a very big threat, and people's behavior probably doesn't need to be greatly modified. But in the city...yeah, with the population density and what happens with any scenario of a highly contagious and significantly virulent disease, some significant guidelines and behaviors are necessary to keep things from getting out of hand.

Our emergency rooms in Houston went into emergency overflow mode twice, but fortunately still stayed within controllable parameters. A few hours away in San Antonio, things were so bad that they were hauling in refrigerated 18-wheelers to use as extended/portable morgues.
