I noticed that the number of games in my library went from 500 to 498 but I didn't get a notice of removal. This has happened before to people and it's usually been betas that were removed. I'm not sure what betas were in my library before so I can't verify if that's the case. However, when I synced with SteamGifts, my number of games here also went down by two. Did this happen to anyone else and does anyone know what got removed?

UPDATE: Thanks guys and gals! It seems the most likely candidates are "Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad Beta" and "Rising Storm Beta." I'll leave this thread open for some time in case anyone else is wondering the same thing and goes searching the forum.

Those games get removed from the store page, not from your library.

I can't tell you what happened, but you could synch your account with isthereanydeal.com, as there is a feature where they'll automatically notify you if some suspicious activities like games being removed from your account are detected (and in this case they'll also tell you which game in particular).

I'll keep this in mind. I knew there was a site that did this I just couldn't remember or find which. Although I don't need another site to keep syncing my private profile with :/

Perhaps you've checked the number during a free weekend when you had a couple of extra games?

No, I definitely remember checking the number and syncing SG after the free weekend games were removed.

I don't keep eye on amount of my games so I can't say if anything changed, but you should know that some f2p games adds to you account, and they have influence on your game counter even if you unistall them. Let's say you have installed Dota 2. It was added to your library and account, giving you +1 to number of games. But when you unistalled it, it vanished from your library, but not from your account.

However, f2p games are the only ones that you can remove from you account by yourself. I think that you would remember doing something like that, so maybe you have a younger siblings or some 'funny' friends who could delete some f2p titles from your account?

And, at the end - I think it probably was betas. We can say many things about Valve, but when game is in your account it's very unlikely that they will delete it. Unless it's game like Infinite Crisis that will be kill soon, and because it's moba, it will probably become unplayable, and then erased from accounts as nonexistent.

I haven't uninstalled anything recently and I generally avoid F2P games >_<

Yes, that also happens to me sometimes. I do not know what is happening and also never know what games are missing.
So I contacted the Steam support and they tell me that maybe a f2p game were removed.

But I'm sure that there were no f2p but I can not prove it :D

F2P games don't +1 ones library tough.

I'd say it was a (maybe EA) game that turned F2P.

With F2P games I really meant the games that are just over the weekend a few days for free :)

They actually do, as long as they are installed.

You can add any non-steam games to your library, too.

I mean the "games owned" count or badge.

there's the whole free weekend thing to consider as that temporarily adds games to your account.

Do you own Rising Storm/Red Orchestra 2 ? That could be due to its beta is now gone.

I do own the game. Were there two beta entries or does that only account for one of my missing games?

There were beta for both.

There were two separate beta entries for single player / multiplayer part of the game if I remember correctly.

In case you didn't see Number4450's comment above, (s)he says isthereanydeal.com does just this.

During last check we have found suspicious activity on your Collection:
2015-07-24 15:00 - Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad Beta [Steam] removed by system
2015-07-24 15:00 - DARK BLOOD ONLINE [Steam] removed by system

So only one beta for RO2. That takes care of one out of two. I didn't own/play Dark Blood Online.

It was one of those free to play games, maybe added if you ever used the Add Everything tools. :P

F2P games won't count [in library] unless you have bought DLC or the game installed. (Adding free DLC isn't enough)

it was one of those games that gave you credit for playing in playfire rewards, if you did some.

I had a quick check and both 'Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad Beta' and 'Rising Storm Beta' are gone from my library.

Edit - And yeah, I read the previous comments but I have never purchased Rising Storm or even tried to play it, I just had the Beta displayed in my library. That and 'Rising Storm/Red Orchestra 2 Multiplayer' came with the Red Orchestra games I got in a bundle way back. I'm also showing two less games since they vanished.

Oooh, I'm always scared of this.
Once I had Payday: The Heist removed from my library right after a free weekend, even though I actually owned the game.

Unless you've synced your account with a site that tracks this stuff, there is no other way that I know of. Hence the purpose of the thread. It seems to most likely have been the Red Orchestra and Rising Storm betas in my situation.

I don't know if those sites do it. Number4450's comment above says isthereanydeal.com supports that feature. But I don't know if it'll tell you if betas are removed.
