Steam Machine Beta Test/Steam Controller Impression Posted

Edit: I did some research and as far as I can tell, there is no NDA. So my wife has agreed to help me do an unboxing video. I will keep this thread as my central area for updates. If you have questions, I will do my best to answer them as I can. Thanks to everyone who said congrats.

The email I got specifically mentioned not selling it.

"Remember, the beta hardware is meant for your use. The beta agreement specified that it cannot be transferred to other Steam users. So please do not try to sell your hardware to anyone else."

According to the info when they announced the signups, its basically an indefinite loan. Valve continues to own the machine (which is why you can't sell it) and reserves the right to recall any and all units (shipping costs to be paid by Valve).

I suspect that they'll just let the people keep the machines, rather than Valve having to pay for the return shipping on 300 used computers, but they retain the right in case of any hardware glitches. After all, it is a beta.

congrats, kind of annoyed that valve got me all excited and made me think that I at least had a 1 in 1 million chance but today revealed that they only selected candidates from North America.
