i recommend to just install all drivers that came with the computer on CDs and/or DVDs

also verify that the headset are inserted in the correct jack (usually of green color)

Realtek is probably your sound drivers if they are onboard but if you have a sound card it will probably be something else. It might sound dumb, but make sure it's not muted in the sound part of control panel. Also make sure you plug the speakers into the green hole on your PC. If your graphics card has an HDMI-out option then this might be causing the audio issues. Try uninstalling your HDMI drivers for the gfx card and see if that works. When I built my PC the HDMI driver and the sound driver both tried to be on at the same time and it caused my pc to crash a lot until I fixed it.

Here's a few more ideas. I hope you can get it working!

  1. Make sure the speakers you have aren't broken(test on other PC)

  2. If you have realtek on board sound then go to the realtek HD audio manager in the start menu and poke around in there to see if anything is set to mute or off or anything like that

I'm no scientist, but I'm fairly sure you need speakers to produce sounds...

First, do you have a sound card?
Second, did you install the drivers for it if you have one?
Third, do you have speakers or headphones?
