You're sitting here on a message board for video games. What else do you have to do?

Cuddling with my girlfriend? But still, it's a freaking long progress when you have at least 100 games.

Well, if you knew about it before then it wouldn't be so long. Just do it and get it over with, then do it to new games as added.

I used to do it with my physical copies every Spring cleaning. It took me too long to enjoy the final product.
So no, I would rather hire a team of trained monkeys to do it.

I was told NOT to play Metro 2033 because it gets rather repetitive and annoying in mid game because of the biased difficulty.
I have played some CoH, loved it but got carried away by other games and I will try it again someday. Supreme Commander sounds like a good choice since I'm currently into Sci-fi stuffs, will probably give it a shot this weekend.

To those thinkingg wahhhh takes so long!!!
first off why you asking how to do something if you aren't willing to do it?
well you canjust put a game into a category whenever you play it,
or just make a favorites category so you have all the games you play at the top

The problem is sometimes I bought bundles and got gifted games I had no bloody idea what genre they were in. I was looking for an automatic feature that allows me to categorize my whole library with just one click, not a manual way since I already did it with a favorite category. Occasionally, I like to play game by genre as well (I just went through a Firefly marathon last week with couples of friends so I'd love to play some space travel, RTS games right now or even some old Western games)

You have to do it manually, so what you do is, you have some fun with it. I name all my categories funny things that make me laugh.
All games set in space are "Kevin Spacey"s, point-and-click adventure games are "Artsy Storytellers", puzzle games are "Puzzly Thinkerers" and Strategy games are "Timespender Thinkerers". Stealth games are "Stealthy Mo-fos", First-Person shooters are "Shooty Incipient Individuals" and finally Racing games are "Racists".
Before you know it you have everything categorized and all lubed up.

Hey Sam! :)
I tried keeping my library organized by genre, but it just go so messy. Most games don't just fit into one category, that in an attempt to describe them, I practically had a different category for every single game. Now I just have my games in alphabetical categories.
If you're willing to organize off of Steam, try out http://www.grouvee.com/ you can import your Steam library. Then you can, in your shelf view, click a genre and it'll show you which games you have in that category. It's pretty handy. Plus you can add your own shelves for more organization.
Here's my collection for an example: http://www.grouvee.com/user/Jess/shelves/

Google "depressurizer," it's a pretty good library manager.
For RTS, I'd definitely recommend Supreme Commander. It's the only RTS game I know of in which you can have giant submersible land battleship carriers fighting flying saucer aircraft carriers with giant death lasers. Also, epic nuke wars.

holy macaroni, that sounds dope as blue crystal meth! yup, I definitely will have to try it this week.

Is there a feature on Steam that helps me categorize my library by genre? Sometimes I struggled to remember whether or not I own any FPS at all or a good driving game and usually I pick a game to play by genre.
However, if there is no such thing, is there a good shooting game in my library that I have not played? Some I might have played on the 360 (Bioshock, Tomb Raider, Deus Ex).
I also have a poor knowledge about RTS. Do you recognize any good RTS titles in my library besides the Warhammer 40k franchise?
