if u have pc with lots of users on same windows profile, like big family or hostel or dermitory or internet cafe or somethis else
steam gives u possibility to use all accounts on this pc without knowing log/pas and autentificator

ok, if u all find answer so fast (big picture mode)

do u think It is right, so it should be?

I use only Family Sharing for this. I don't know about any other way.

Big Picture Mode does not ask for passwords. You can just switch between users as long as they have logged in at least once.

Can you still do things with those accounts like accept offers or is it just for games, like family sharing?

Pretty sure it's everything. I often switch to BPM, switch user, then exit BPM so it's just like I am logged in as the other account.

That's pretty weird, not that I would share a PC.

Well, it's a VM only for gaming and the multiple accounts are for the kids. So I think it's pretty low risk!

I meant the full access without logging in part, not the accounts part. I have some family sharing accounts on mine and mine shared on some family PCs.
I.e. it's a bit weird on steam's side, not yours.

do u think its safe and is it normal steam politics?

This is how SteamOS works. It logs you into Big Picture Mode and then you switch between users - no passwords necessary once first logged in. I use a user account specifically for Steam, so no concern about 'multiple gamers' on one user account.

It does ask for password, if you uncheck "remember be" tickbox when logging in.

Source: I have a SteamOS machine that boots into big picture mode with three accounts, my kids just log in and play the games in family view, while mine is password-protected.

Unless maybe it works differently on Windows, though I'm not sure why it would.

You can do it but it involves closing Steam entirely (.exe and services) and logging in using Big Picture Mode

Are you sure about need to exit? On Linux, if I want to switch accounts I just go into BPM, log off the current user and select another.

Yeah you're correct. I just wrote a program to switch out between my accounts easily using steamcd and I got confused

You won't lose anything. I've been doing this for a month or two, log off, choose another account, then log off and get back to your normal account

It has nothing to do with family sharing. They can only do this trick on computers you logged on with them. If you didn't use their computer to log into steam with your account then you're clear.

Then tell him he needs to uninstall and reinstall Steam, or do it yourself when you have access to his computer. That should clear your account from his computer

It shouldn't, you can try at least

Really, if you can't trust them with your account, you shouldn't be using family sharing with them.

It's true. We use it at home, my boyfriend and I. It doesn't represent a problem, I even find it convenient, since I only use the option at home. But it is kinda weird and unexpected, considering Steam's security measures.

imagine your little kid log in to your account and use cheats (kids dont understand difference of fairplay and cheating) and u ll get VAC

or one of your friends want to trick with u - they will bue game and send to himselves

this will be not happy

You want to share your account with the internet cafe? Why you should do that? Its easier you post your accout password here, thats the same you try to do.

Have you reported this bug to steam? I mean they're the ones that should care about this, not us.

Personally I don't have a problem with it, if you trust someone enough to log in to steam on their computer (presumably to use family sharing) then you should trust them enough that they won't do anything bad with your account.

Exactly. This sounds more like a problem for people abusing the family sharing or poorly implemented cyber cafes.
