WTF could this mean? Also there are no other console exclusive games in there like GTAV or Forza, could this be a leak?

Strange indeed, despite the fact that RDR was released on Microsoft's Xbox 360 I don't see a reason to add it there :-/.

I was going to post this thread. But it's kind of been disproved maybe?.

well...dunno what to think.
Now what to do in case it is legit ?

  1. buy and prove Rockstar wrong about PC "pirating" issue
  2. not buy and let Rockstar be jelly of Gaben's moneh

....hmmm

If people had any intelligence they would realize that piracy is not the reason a game doesn't come out on PC.

Yea but sadly enough people who are not that bright believed rockstar when they made that claim.

By enough I mean a lot of people.

As in most people are morons.

And what, out of curiosity, do you believe the reason to be?

Rockstar would be fools not to release it on PC. So this could simply be them finally thinking logically.

Unfortunately the same can't be said for Microsoft and the Halo series on PC. So much money is just sitting there and you don't even have to build a brand new game to get it.

But to release it after 4 years is kinda hard to believe, hope this is true though.

"Let's spend 20 millions $ on rewriting RDR's buggy code to sell game for $20 hoping there are going to be over a million PC players who will buy it on first day, and while doing it not making more DLCs for GTA5 or starting working on GTA6 which would sell in 20 million copies, for $50" - yeah, that sounds like a logic move.

This would be only logical if they would start working on RDR2 and they would stop hating PC and would release it on PC along console versions - so they would want people to know what happened in first game. But knowing their history, pigs will fly first...

I wasn't aware they would need to re-write the code because it was so buggy :S I don't know the exact process for porting games to PC from console, but $20 million dollars still seems a bit excessive. Especially if it were a download only game with no money spent on packaging. Considering that they could include all DLC with the Undead Nightmare expansion, I think $29.99 would be a more fair price. I'm sure there are many console players who would buy the game again on PC for a better experience and plenty of PC gamers who are curious based on the success of the game. GotYs have that effect on people lol.

Yeah, I hear the game code was really weird and it would take a shit ton of effort to port it to PC.

It's probably why it will be one of the few rockstar games that won't come to PC.

"I wasn't aware they would need to re-write the code because it was so buggy :S"

Even on Consoles there where some rare(?) Bugs still in it...had it once (no idea why) that the animals/horses etc spawned (and moved) around 20 Meter above ground.

After long silence about PC version they said once or twice that code of RDR is one big mess that only works because they sacrificed some virgins and sold few interns' souls. Somewhat like SG, which is a reason for SG v2 :)

Anyway, they said they would need to practically write whole code from nothing. It probably wouldn't take those 20 millions to write it, but you're still losing money from not-making GTA5 DLCs or GTA6 or whatever next R* project would be.

Apparently only devs can add their games on the website... so yeah, there's a high chance Rockstar did it.
I don't think it's only listed because it's related to Microsoft due to the Xbox version.

Here's hope! But let's wait for an official answer from Rockstar.

To not make the pc version.. this is true.. :P

Honestly though I think they missed out on TONS of sales for this one by not making a PC version. Heck I know I would have picked it up and knew of several others who would have too. Oh well right?

They have said reason there's no PC version is not viable. Unofficailly it has been said that game is crappyly coded with no documentation and it even barely works on consoles.

Say what you said in the first comment, and add the "To not make the pc version" to it. That was what I meant by the first part of the comment :P

Yes I do agree that its badly coded. When I played one shop owner died early in the game without me ever being close to the area and it happened to be the vender who sold the ONE outfit that kept me from one achievement.. would not have been soo bad if I knew about it at the start and did not find out till I had already beaten the game.. >_<

It was still a very fun game, plus there are always fan made patches and mods that could have came out. Not to mention the Undead version of the game they released at one point that could have also been released on PC. I think it would have been nice regardless. Then again I have played and enjoyed games that where far more buggy than RDR was. ( Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, and Land of the Dead Road to Fiddler's Green are to examples :P )
