I know it's not what you specifically asked for, but since others are recommending games as well, have you tried GTR, rFactor or iRacing?
If you're stuck on Steam, the latter two are not options.

iRacing and rFactor are two of the most realistic racing games available. iRacing is used by many (possibly most) pros as a tool to learn real-world tracks. The learning curve can be a little bit steep, but it's very fun. You can SP it or hop online and run against real pros, which is kind of cool.

rFactor is just very customizable. Maybe GTR is as well. Been quite awhile since I've run either. Have spent a little time on iRacing fairly recently and that's about it. Sold my wheel awhile back and can only play at work now (which is rare).

i have a "crappy" wheel. it's small and has force feedback. it has been enough for me to have a good time with racing games. feel free to recomend me some wheels if you think they will make a diference. to be honest i would enjoy having a decent wheel for a change. my wheel is thrustmater ferrari that works on both PS3 and PC. i bought it years ago literally because it's price was so cheap , i think it was around 10 euro.

Logitech G27 is a good mid/high-end rig. Fanatec starts getting pricy, but better.

Logitech G27 - it is best choice for that money. Momo racing and driving force GT are the "lowest" wheels that are still usable in my opinion. G27 is something like xbox360 gamepad (in gamepad category), it is standard and it works with all racing titles.

To be the first one to actually answer your question: Yes. I got all the Race and GTR games and you will like it. Having a wheel is a big plus, if not a must. However, the game is quite outdated. So stick to the F2P RaceRoom Racing Experience.

i would say yes, race injection is really good. and its def. worth getting. barc0de mentioned that it is outdated, well yes it does not have top quality graphics, but well the driving physics are still top and there is still multiplayer! and i wouldnt stick to raceroom racing experience only, because atm all you can do there is time trial, ghost cars and apex hunt.
and make sure to check out project cars for next year, there you can tweak the settings to make it become the game you want.
