I have extra 10 copies of Bioshock Infinites but don't need that many. So I'll give some away. Any ideas on what events I can organize to give them away? I was thinking of one private contributor, one group, one puzzle, and one contest.

Sounds good. May I ask, how did you get 10 copies!

Trading for them with like a hundred TF2 keys, of course.

Just do em' all in publics. But have each one be a different CV req. One is $1.00, then $25.00, then $50, $100, $500, etc.

Why no love for public GAs??

I'm kind of iffy on public GAs since most users who enter don't seem to appreciate the prize or even say thanks.

Weird, I never noticed something like that.

On average i get "thanks" from 10% of entrants.

Oh you both meant the thank you spams on giveaways... piff
Plus, some of that 10% is made by an addon lol

I want to say 'fight to the death' but I'm not sure of the convenience or legal status.

Honestly Mew, you're always great at coming up with interesting contests and puzzles so I think you've a better idea than most of us!

Well we could rent a boat and sail far enough offshore that we're in international waters, and then anything goes.

You're either overplaying your fame or trolling amazingly, Mew.

Make 10 puzzles and do the giveaways as a chain. Post 1 puzzle in a forum topic. Have the solution of that puzzle point to a giveaway. In that giveaway, post the link to the next puzzle in its description, and continue the chain. Make each puzzle harder the farther you go in the chain. You could also maybe do increasing CV requirements on them, for example 1st is zero CV, second is 50 CV, third is 100 CV, etc.

Or make it decreasing CV so that non contributors have to work extra hard to be able to join :p

You pick a number between 1 and 100. If someone guesses right, they get a copy. If someone guesses wrong, shotgun blast to the face.

Here's an idea, take one key and hide one letter every hour (in order) somewhere on the forum.

Make a private giveaway for people that played their won games for many, many hours, e.g. 500 hours minimum or 50% for at least 4
,5 hours

In my opinion, that'll be unfair to those who haven't won anything before.

I don't think that will work too well. People will just idle in their wins. In addition, there are many, many games that don't take longer than an hour to beat. What then?

You can do a few puzzles. All kinds of difficulty levels or from different fields. I already have the game but I like puzzles :D

Write each code onto a piece of paper, and travel to the few places on the planet where you can make an Earth sandwich. Hide the codes under the bread and disclose them to NOBODY.

Also check the codes yearly.

Doing it the hard way - create 5 websites with one letter hidden in each (source html, qr codes and so on). Leave the links randomly on forum.

Of course correct order of letters must be guessed. It's only 120 combinations, I believe.

you make a puzzle to enter a group to solve another puzzle to enter the contest to be selected for the give away with a contributor value of your choice

Following the idea of a contest or duel... You could organize a small competition by picking a free or open implementation of a game with highly competitive gameplay. For example, if you chose poker, you could use PokerTH (or any other alternatives) and host a game. It's not the fairest idea possible, but it's possibly fun.

Or better yet... If you can develop the code for it (or get someone to help you with it), you could hold a big contest based on the Prisoner's Dilemma among all people willing to kill themselves, erm I mean compete, for a copy of Bioshock Infinite. This also has a fitting flavor, considering all the ethic questions present in Bioshock.

EDIT: Of course, the Prisoner's Dilemma is just an idea. Any ethical dilemma, any choice or game theory trap, should do. Just set some restrictions (max players? max moves? how to count points? etc) and it's good to begin with.

CS GO matches to determined the best people to receive the link to the private giveaway? or TF2 match (I prefer CS GO because it's more....professional, plz don't take any offense TF players)

we rarely have things like that, competitive match to win a game on steamgifts, the only one that comes to my mind is the portal 2 puzzle giveaway 1-2 week ago

or, you could put your *I wanna play a game mask on and do sth psychological and scary
