A textbook for one of my college level classes says "addicting" in it.

Can you maybe provide a little more background as to why this is a bad thing? If it's saying that the book/class is addicting, then I agree.

I believe it was in a Math For Liberal Arts book, and was in reference to casual games.

Probably for reactions to what was vague beforehand. In the context of casual games being addicting, it's absolutely correct. If you no longer want to live on this planet, there are a few companies outside of the USA that will be happy to send you to the space station.

I blame the Science Channel for actually telling me anything. As far as I know, the figures are correct. But I imagine, if you could afford something like that, you could do better things with your money.
