I hope they fix the optimization since Larian is doing it. For example Divinity 2 takes up nearly twice as much HD space as Witcher 3 does which makes no sense.

HD space is the least of my concerns.
I just hope they wont fuck this up

That was just an example. The optimization shouldn't have been that bad.

Well, maybe I should give the first game another chance. Or better yet, allow myself to completely give up on it and move to the second one.
I mean, it's Larian, I'm going to play whatever they release next anyway, but my recent experience with Baldur's Gate was a pretty poor one.

1 issue with balders gate to new players is they try to play it on hard from the start. in that game picking harder skill levels is meant for characters that have been uploaded from other saves. if you make a new character and start a new game make sure to play on normal or it will be too difficult to finnish without save scumming.

in that game hard difficulty isnt meant for experienced players, its meant for experienced characters.

ps, dont fuck with the bear in the first map after the town.
pps. whitelisted for awesome ratio

Baldur's Gate is great and I highly recomend playing the enchanted versions since you can get permament stat buffs from part 1 and than use your hero with that permament stat buffs in Baldur's Gate 2 plus enchanced edition highlights lootable containers.

It can be a hard game at times and weapon that is not magical can break so first hours are the hardests.

Other than the writing, what worries me is that we have no indication whatsoever that it's going to be an isometric RPG, this alone can make or break the game.

In 1999, when they announced BG2, everyone was "OMG, yes, yes!"
In 2019, when they announce BG3, its forums are nothing but one group bitching about how they won't buy it if it has turn-based combat, another group bitching about how they won't buy it if it does not have turn-based combat. The rest are demanding/asking for random stuff as if they are the ones developing the damn game.
Yay, progress.

I think it would be a builder simulation because steam says "Similar to games you've played":

  • Sim City 4
  • Cities Skylines

It says it's similar to Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword, for me.
Perhaps we'll be able to simulate towns full of roving warbands of adventurers?

..wait, when did this become a game about Tethyr's civil war? o.O

"Turn-based is no buy"

As if the original games weren't turn based to begin with. The games used direct ports of the AD&D 2E ruleset ffs.
