"To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.
As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.
This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.
As Bruce always says, “Live it up” and together we plan to do just that.
Love, Emma, Demi, Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, & Evelyn"

Knew something had to be up, he hasn't really done a good movie since Glass and LEGO Movie 2. In fact after those movies he has done well over 20+ direct-to-video (this includes upcoming movies), only 2 actually made it to theatres. Also even before those movies he had several more direct-to-video projects. That is a LOT of D or F rank tier movies for such an outstanding actor.

I guess we will never see Die Hard 6 now :(

It seems to be a recent development and that doesn't explain these terrible movies. He was on a path for a retirement fund I guess with crap direct to video gigs. It's not like he was writing them anyway so if he could "act" in them, he didn't have aphasia then.

Well the last good Die Hard movie was Live Free or Die Hard. But it is sad to see him having to step down from acting.

Two videos that are totally worth watching related to this:

Half in the Bag: The Bruce Willis Fake Movie Factory

Half in the Bag: Pam and Tommy and Bruce Willis

Important to keep in mind both were released before these news were made public. But it just adds to the context now to know how spot on they were.

Bruce is such a legend for my generation... his late movies are not worth much, yes, but the old ones, I still love them. Die hard series, Pulp fiction... I feel older than I truely am now.

Who are they going to make these direct-to-video crap action movies with now?
I guess they'll still have Liam Neeson...

On a more serious not, never been a fan of his or his acting but that sucks. He is luckier than most because I'm sure he is not poor and he'll have the support he needs. I hope it's a condition he can recover from. Even if it's from a stroke, it's been known to happen with proper therapy and time.

I LOVED The Fifth Element, and really liked Unbreakable and Pulp Fiction, and still haven't seen Die Hard (???), but I really can't recall recent Willis movies other than Glass. It feels "adequate" that he retires from acting, hopefully he can enjoy his time.

Nobody mentioned 12 Monkeys, I may have seen it in the theater not sure. I remember it was good tho, maybe deserves a rewatch sometime.

I do remember I saw the Fifth Element and Pulp Fiction in the Theater when they came out, those both are really good.
