I prefer Chrome, Firefox is pretty good too

I used Firefox for many years but then it started to treat me badly, crashing every 30 minutes or so no matter what OS or version of Firefox I was using (never used addons) so I eventually switched to Chrome and now it's my love <3

FireFox for 3rd party addons that aren't covered by Chrome. Also, I don't need to accept the standard Chrome layout, which I dislike.

I use possibly the most bloated set-up of firefox ever encountered.

Firefox, for the addons. You really can't do much with Chrome, comparatively speaking. The big thing for me is not being able to have full control over the tabs. If they had the ability to use something similar to TabsMixPlus, I would at least consider a switch. There would still be a number of features that wouldn't exist on Chrome, that I would miss.

I used Chrome from when it came out to just recently. I switched back to Firefox realizing all the improvements it has had since about 2009 the last time I used it. It's very fast now and I like the look instead of Chrome. Maybe I'll switch back in a few years, but for now I'm with Firefox.
Also, Firefox doesn't advertise it's products (Chromebook, chrome store, etc) whenever I open a new tab. :)
I've been looking at Opera which I used for a while, and it looks like another alternative to Chrome which could be good but for now I'll be using Firefox.

you can switch to "most used pages" after opening a new tab (that option will be saved for further tabs too)

I've never had an advertisement on Chrome, you must have some weird crap installed on it.

I have no extensions installed on Chrome besides Adblock and avast! webrep. The same two I have on Firefox. There are always advertisements, not like popup or anything, but small in the corner ads on the newtab page promoting the chrome book, chrome store, etc. Stuff that I don't want to see, if I wanted them I would go to the webstore or I would buy a chromebook.
Also Chrome uses separate processes for each extension and tab which is very annoying and causes much more memory usage. I've had 0 crashes with Firefox since I've started using it, and since February (when I installed windows) I've probably crashed on chrome at least 50+ times.
Firefox also has the nice smooth scrolling feature built in, requiring no extensions.
And then there's the data gathering. I probably shouldn't have to explain this to anyone, but many people don't know about Chrome. It basically collects information on everything. Firefox doesn't. (Or at least only collects with your explicit preference)
