As a gifter and winner (today i won the same game by the same giveaway creator) i know both sides when it comes to rerolls.
Instead of me now posting in that giveaway asking for a reroll please, the giveaway creator then has to send in a support ticket, then wait for support to grant the reroll, alot of people usually enter for the same game and have a risk of winning twice or don't realize they already had a certain DLC.
Also there are many gifters that create like 1000 copies, and they might not always have the time or notice all the message notifications they might get.
Why not allow the giveaway winner to ask instantly for a reroll (perhaps with an are you sure? message), it would save everyone time and lighten the load of support.

[Edit] Possible issues summed up by Amorphism
ambidot - activate won key and get a re-roll.
Solution: Key will be hidden, once your reveal it, your re-roll ability is revoked. But what can be done with Indiegala link / steam gifts? Still a problem. Any ideas?

â€Ēm3rc - CV farming (the example given was unclear to me, why stranger will re-roll, they're strangers, they don't give a crap. It could work by coordination with 5 friends though)
Solution: Requesting a re-roll by the user will remove it from the entry pool.

I want this so badly, because some winners showing me their disrespect and completely ignoring all of my requests, when i am trying to add them on steam to send gift.

i didn't read all the comments in this necro-bumped topic, but.... one rare problem i foresee is if it just kept getting re-rolled thru all 5-6 entries cause everybody already owns/won it, and none realizing it needs to just be deleted so none contacting gifter for deletion. otherwise i see no harm in it if it had the "reveal" option kill the reroll capabilities..

I think you missed the part of solutions that says removing the reroller from entrypool. is stated in the lower part of the OP. Or I am understanding you wrong :)

well yeah, but it could take weeks for everyone to actually hit the re-roll button..

winner a: took 3days before they logged on again and re-rolled
winner b: wasn't online for another 36hours
winner c: was online instantly and re-rolled
winner d: stopped entering stuff ending cause he went on vacation and wasn't expecting a 5day old win so is gone for 2weeks
winner e: won it a week after it ended, so needs a re-roll
winner f: finally the last winner and last entrance, also won it 2weeks after it ended.. finally i get the deletion request 3-4weeks after it ended.

update/edit:
versus currently when i get a reroll with low entrances, i check who all already owns it and tell support "re-roll till it's not user1 user2 or user3, and it needs to land on user 4, 5, or 6 cause it's in 1, 2, & 3's libraries already" xD

update2:
also the dropping those entrances would suck if it ended with 5entries but only got accepted with 3entries. manual re-rolls don't pull entries like that to lose CV.

Well that would be the worst case scenario. But it would be faster anyway because how it is now, you have to send the ticket which could take 12 hours extra on each case (asumming the creator is somewhat active and support reacts fast) So in this scenario you would have an additional 3 day period. So I see only gain and no loss in this case...

There are 2 factors that are removed with this suggestion:
1 the time that it takes for the creator to be online after the winner sends his message.
2 the time that it takes for support to rerroll (which atm is days)

So I have the feeling I am missing the point you are trying to make.

@ your second edit, you have a point, I see a solution to that but that would require an extra row in the database which is not really improving the case...

yeah, i know what you mean.. have it remember the initial ending entries and go by that instead of the amount of entries upon marking received.

but yeah, it's all hypothetical and rare case scenario.. overall i think it being implemented and putting up with those rare issues would be way better then the current system.

overall it's a big +1 still here.. just see a few minor complications that i'd rather deal with then the current setup.

@ the indiegala links, just hide them as well, so hide all info for activating the game, after revealing no chance on rerrol anymore
