"Pyramid scheme"s are evil, but referring people to good deals have nothing to do with a pyramid scheme. A pyramid scheme involves getting people to work for you with empty promises of future gains. Both the person referring and the referee getting $5 for future purchases is not a pyramid scheme and it is as equal as things come.

The $5 for you and me both thingy works only the first time when you create your account and buy something from them. Afterwards you save by checking the site regularly to follow good deals and by using vouchers and of course by referring to friends.
