Happened to me so f*ck me, one less giveaway for you guys.
Since a key of mine has been pirated once I am a little paranoid about it and wanted to check if the key for Deponia still works and now... Well, I have Deponia now. Yay, I guess?

I have to admit it was for a old game, back when key generators were a thing. It was Half-Life, I unearthed it from my nostalgic dusty little PC game chest buried on a deserted island and now someone used my key and Steam won't do a thing because they expect me to have a receipt for a game I bought over 10 years ago.

But how did someone used that key? How that someone got it?

With a key generator or some pirate website that distributes serial keys.

Steam support can check a key and confirm if it is used or not. At least, they did it once :)
