I just found this out in league of legends

Not any more odd than DOTA 2 cashing in off DOTA. Remember that IceFrog (the guy behind DOTA all-Stars) was the one who started up LoL, and he did it before DOTA2 came along. There was a difference in vision between the various people involved in DOTA, hence the reason it spawned two games instead of one.

I think that they put that to not start up disscusions, trolls were very popular at the start of the game, so if they started to censore it , it would make sense.

Nope, they just have contracts with players from their top league (LCS) and are actually paying those players good money. Obviously they don't want those guys to promote other games. oO

They get paid to stream the game which is also a great form of advertising for whichever game.

It's totally understandable if LoL doesn't want you to advertise it's competitors. They may not be the ones writing the checks to you, but they sure as hell can take it away if they want.

They canceled it after some days though.

So what? Why would they let people who take part in their tournaments, people that they pay, promote other games?
