Solution:

This was a rick trole themed giveaway for Depths of Peril

To start off, hidden in the source code was an itstoohard code, dbO6UxqM. This took you to an itstoohard quiz with just 2 Ns at the top and no question. What could that mean?. Well see as I posted in the thread; I said that 1 step is all you need to get started. So the answer to the ith quiz was 1 step and then you were given another its too hard link and i hinted to people in the thread 2 step of course was the answer to the second itstoohard quiz, and this one had an e at the top.
But wait, there's more.

This went on with 39 itstoohard quizzes. Each answer was 1 step 2 step 3 step and so on and the letters progressed to say, 'Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down' which was abreviated in a decoy giveaway link, nggyu. When you came to the 39 th step, there was an easily decodable itstoohard code; what is the abbreviation of counter strike manufacturing xXxxX, so the giveaway code was cSmfG and that led you to the 39 steps giveaway which was a previous iteration of this puzzle and had already ended. This was the last stop to my very similar giveaway for the 39 steps, but of course in this puzzle i gave away depths of peril.

Hidden in the source code of the 39 steps giveaway was a youtube link. Now what could possibly be on youtube? There are of course the actual video, videos on the side, descriptions, and comments. Nothing would particularly point to the video itself or other videos and the description could have easily been checked for a code if i was the uploader. So the answer lies in the comments. However, before most of the people who solved it had done so, some random russian rick rolled tons of russians who posted numerous comments in the span of a few hours. This cause me to hint about the russians had made the puzzle harder and that you should look at the big picture, rather all of it, so ALL of the comments. Since my name on youtube is not anything like my forum name, I also hinted to keep in mind when the puzzle was made as that would be a similar date to my comment, which was D2j45XuD, which led to yet another, but final, its too hard quiz. Then there were 5 general questions about the puzzle.

1. 39 steps
2. this could have been any one of four phrases from the never gonna give you up, among them were 'give you up' 'and let you down'
3. maybe this one stumped some of the 3 people who made it so far but didnt end up finishing but the answer was 'take 1 step' which was stated in the original post, it would have been a little more obvious though to people who finished the first puzzle
4. no was the answer, obviously it was not lazy to reuse the old giveaway since not too many people solved it and especially because it took so long to create
5. The answer was depths of peril, in the ith code the banner stated 'a perilous depth' and the hint hinted toward the last thing you needed to do and in the ith description it stated 'can you now go through one final depth of perilous wonder' and anyone who follows bundles would know about depths of peril being in the recent groupees and that was the game being given away

Answering these finally gave you the 5 letter steamgifts giveaway code but if i made anything like this again, i would have had the code be an imgur image which would lead to the true giveaway code.
