I don't know if they say this in other places, but in Brazil we say that a person "is suspicious to speak" (translating the term very badly) when he praises something but has reason to give a partial opinion. Gostei da história. Bem contada e bem escrita. Realmente foi uma decisão difícil de se tomar (sobre o pai), mas acho que faria a mesma escolha. Bem, sua esposa escreve bem e soube conduzir o conto de forma que o leitor pudesse ver a realidade do agreste, porém, não sei dizer se uma pessoa de outro país consiga entender as regionalidades do texto. De toda forma, meus parabéns pra ela (cliquei em 50 aplausos para o texto dela).
I liked the story. Well told and well written. It really was a difficult decision to make (about the father), but I think I would make the same choice. Well, your wife writes well and knew how to conduct the story so that the reader could see the reality of the agreste, however, I cannot say if a person from another country can understand the regionalities of the text. Anyway, congratulations to her (clicked on 50 applause for her text).

My amazing wife recently wrote a short story for a contest. Apparently she needs a good public rating to increase the visibility of the text (I'm really not sure how it works, she's the smart person in the couple, not me), so if you can, I'd like you to go to this site and click on the applause icon that appears at the bottom of the page.
