Hi,
I am trying to send a dlc gift to my friend. We both are fromTurkey but he currently lives in Australia for two months. His steam store country is Turkey and still buys games on turkish store prices but he cannot accept my gift. What should we do? Is there a solution?
Thanks for your answers!
Edit: The answer from the support: "Please decline the gift so that a refund can be issued to the purchaser's account. The best solution in this last case, would be to have your friend purchase a Steam Digital Gift Card for you. That way you'll be able to purchase this DLC from your own account."

Is it a gift or a key? If it's a gift, have you tried to trade it VIA steam? Or maybe sending it through an email from the inventory?

It is a gift. I chose him when I bought the DLC and sent it. Now when I try to manage the gift, I have one option: cancel the order. The gift does not stock in my inventory. He sent a ticket to steam support, I hope the answer arrives soon. Thanks again:)

Because you probably facing the region restriction which steam will not do anything about, you could try vpn (which is not adviced) and/or just wait till he gets back from Australia.

Yeah, I told him to use VPN but after learning the risks, we will wait for the answer. The weird thing is that he says he can still buy games from turkish steam store with turkish lira in Australia. Btw, apparently, the gift has no expire date. I hope he can accept it later. Thanks for your answer!

Does he get same prices as you? Or are they just in Turkish currency but matches AU price?

Just curious, dont think that will help you ;)

Yes, same prices. We compare the gift's price. It is the same amount.

Then this is some bad programming on valve side... Damn the more reason to stay away from their store and buy from steam key shops like HiB

But only steam implements regional pricing if not games are really costly for us

Lucky you, steam regional pricing for me sucks like everywhere else.

It is a limited time dlc for in-game content(event skins) which is not tradable or marketable. I don't think it is available on any other stores except steam.

Just an idea, but any chance that the problem might be the fact that it's not tradeable? Normally speaking, gifts are tradeable, just not marketable.

I don't know. I bought the dlc for myself three days ago. There is a "gift to a friend" option. Today I chose that one and then his steam name, then I paid for it but he could not accept it:(
The gift seems not to be region restricted. Steam normally gives a warning when I buy and send a gift to a friend. This time I just bought and sent it. No warning.
Thank you for your answer.

Then I guess that's not it. I'd say try a ticket with Steam support, though I don't think anything noteworthy will come out of it. Good luck, I guess. :)
