Sometimes, packages gives you an extra copy of a game you already had when added to your library. These packages get triggered when you're adding a key that contains said game.

Technically, you shouldn't get any extra copy. And the extra copy is not granted by the key from Humble but by the package you previously had on your account.
I think it's a bug in the way the extra copy from packages is handled. Normally, you shouldn't be able to add a game you already have to your account, so you're not getting any more copies on your account. Humble keys, however, contains multiple games and you're technically adding to your account a game you already have, triggering the package into giving you the extra copy.

Just bought the BTA because of this and also got a copy as soon as I logged in and out of the Steam client. I'll let it sit for a bit to see if they take these away as Game of Thrones is not on the normal list for getting a giftable copy if you already own a copy.

Yes, but I meant the giving of a giftable copy by steam when you redeem a code for the game when you already own it is not normal for this title. Further, this title is not on the list of titles that are supposed to do that. Thus I was saying I would hang on to it for a bit to see if Valve did a double-take and realized they were giving away giftable copies they had not intended.

Yeah, actually it's that bundle who gives you the extra copy. When adding a multi-game key it triggers those bundles and they release the extra copy they were meant to give you in case you already had the game when activating them.
