no b/c if you chose to download the DRm free copy. Or some people have been giving the game keys away that they don't want then recalling them due to the fact they hey still have the rights to the keys. Now after you gift via E-mail you cannot lay claim to the game anymore. This way you cannot Sell the key then pull it back. Humble has had many different scams due to their key system. They Had to change it.

P.S. It is really different. After you gift a game you do not own it anymore you cannot revoke the key from someone you gave it to and they cannot be called ripping people off. Everyone wins.

Also it lets people know the game came from humble bundle, so it works to spread word about the bundle and also inform people when they are getting ripped off paying full price for a bundle key.

I'm afraid you're being too logical and rational. Also, there wasn't enough grunts and moans in your post. However do you expect the masses to understand you?

Personally I think the latest system while a bit of a loss of privacy by linking to HB is better than the linking without gifts, single keys, or even individual keys.

As schalart pointed out, it stops people from keeping the whole bundle, giving a key, then later going to support and getting the key/license back.
It also stops key resellers from buying a bunch of bundles and then selling the keys off individually as the redemption will go back through Humble and thus expose them.

Those 2 major benefits for HB, all while still allowing people to make purchases without feeling that some portion of their money is being wasted on stuff they already own/don't want/can't give away/don't get a gift for. Now one can feel confident that even if one owns a game that when buying the bundle they'll get all the licenses paid for and be able to give to secondary accounts/family/friends/SG giveaways.

Previously, people were selling their bundle keys at higher prices on sites like EBay, to people unaware that they were being ripped off. With the new system, the attempts to sell such wouldn't work nearly as well as they would need to join the Humble Bundle site and quickly find out that fact, giving those jerks less business and HB more.

In all truth, I do not mind this new system. Not exactly thrilled about having to link it but that is my only gripe about it. Happy with it otherwise.

Although I understood the reasoning behind the new system and the enforcing of the TOS, it still sucked to have a bunch of unused games in my bundle. I'm glad they changed their mind about this and I think it's a good compromise.

Plus, now I can redeem the games from my phone (or anywhere really) without needing to have the Steam client.

Yes, that's an interesting move, and IMO a good one. People can now gift games without breaking TOS, which is nice. It's possible to do trading/reselling now, but key hoarding is more difficult, and everything goes back to the Humble Bundle site so the origin of keys is always known.

Its stupid but at least we can somehow give away the games we dont need. But I highly doubt it will stop reselling and it could lead to very dangerous scamming shemes too

Don't see any problems with new system. There definitely must be a way to gift others single games from HB just because of the simple fact that there are many games like Bastion that have been in multiple bundles. So when you have a way to give single games to other people you can atleast give games you already have and don't need so you don't waste money or game.
