Yeah since Majority of the Giveaways and Trade Threads are mostly or generally all Region Free games. Just wondering how are you people getting them as the Steam store usually region locks games when buying them as gifts.

There are a lot of alternative steam stores. You have Humble Store, Indiegala Store, Bundles Star Store, and of course, all the bundle sites, bundles are region free

Edit: You get the keys, not the games as gifts, but you can activate them

Once in a while you know, I don't want to waste all my weekends flying on my private jet over to Gaben's private golf camp every day.

I can tell you're lying right away !
If you really knew Gaben you should have known he doesn't have a private jet but yes a private teleporter.

He used to not have a private jet... I bought him one, so I could make him waste his time.

If you buy games directly on Steam in SEA, South America, and several countries in Europe, you will get a Region Restricted gift. The reason is there are several countries in that region that sells game for lower prices.

Get keys from bundles/alternative Steam Stores like Humble Bundle, Indiegala, and Bundle Stars. You will get keys this way, but hey, it's better than a region restricted gift.

I'm guessing SEA is cheaper ._. so they region lock it.

yup. It's unfortunate how Singapore is marginally cheaper for most games and still region locked :(

"some" countries get cheaper prices in those regions, not everyone.

trades mostly, but since it's usually more expensive than buying them from the store, i end up doing all region-restricted GAs (thanks valve for that, locking me in SA but with USA prices, super fair deal!).

Well, you can always ask someone from outside the region to buy you the game you want, as long as you can pay him in any way he wishes. I'm always happy to help in this case as long as somebody can pay me with PayPal.

If you want to do it on your own - trades and alternative sites. From alternative sites I mean bundle sites - Humble Bundle, IndieGala, Bundle Stars, GreenManGaming and more.
