In case the coupons do return:
After Humble reveals the new Choice games on the first Tuesday of a month, pause the subscription and wait for a coupon (oftentimes also announced via email). In case you want to use your Choice store discount in the meantime, you can simply resume, buy something from the store with your discount and then pause again.
Whenever you decide to buy the current Choice month, resume the membership and then either wait for the autocharge date (last Tuesday of the month) or simply select a game here and click "Get key" and you will be prompted with the payment options including the coupon discount in case you got one.
You can even do the latter after the autocharge date up until the new Choice gets revealed (for safety do it at least one day before the reveal). Keep in mind that some of the coupons might expire before or on the autocharge date though.

Resuming means an autocharge. The way you've worded it makes it sound as if you can just pause and resume at will.
When being paused (or how they call it: when you "skip a month"), simply resuming your membership does not do anything except reactivating your subscription, as long as you don't also then select a game, click "Get key" and process the following payment . You can then for example use your Choice store discount and pause ("skip") again or you can wait for the autocharge day. I have done this multiple times over the course of the last couple of years.
You are probably talking about the status of a cancelled subscription. That can only be resumed by immediately buying and paying the current month. But that is not what we're talking about here. You can see that those are different things here:

"Skip A Month" is what I am talking about. "Cancel Membership" is what you are probably talking about. Resuming from the latter makes you pay instantly, resuming from the former doesn't.

Thank you. I'll try this getting into and then pausing a monthly subscription. I the coupons still drop, then less than 7,26€ sounds quite good to me - at that price l would probably buy every 2-3 months. If they don't drop, then I will probably cancel and wait for an offer/sale on yearly subscription.

I decided to buy a year subscription offer they had in sale at december. It was like 7,5€ per month with possibilities skip month and save it for what I will want. Now I am glad I did it, cause yeah, I paid 89 or 99€ at once, but no need to wait for a coupon.

I believe that purchasing their yearly subscription is the best option for saving time. While it may not be the most cost-effective money we can saved. But, it allows us to allocate more time to other activities instead of waiting for coupons to drop until the last days.

Thx. Unless coupons work really well for me (and this may be also a regional matter, cause for example it seems that the IGN offer was only for folks paying in USD or maybe even only for US residents), then I likely will also switch to a yearly sub, when I see an offer/sale in this price range.

they have been flip flopping with the coupons and how you get them since they started it
only if you pause
only if you canceled
only to new people
only with IGN link from site
one big confusing ass game
but i saved $ each time

I remember reading about different discount offers, that folks are getting to convince them to renew Humble Choice subscription. I've bought quite a few bundles from HB, but never before I bought the choice subscription and I've never got any discount offer from them. Is getting monthly subscription, claiming the games and then immediately cancelling it the best way to provoke them to send me a discount offer? Also, what is a good discount offer from them nowadays?
