depends on how you asked. was it by any chance "you're such a pussy" to ask about his cat picture? that could be interpreted as name calling

I don't think you can get suspended for appreciating someone's work or his avatar...so no, you won't get into any kind of trouble at all.

My avatar is one of default steam provided avatar. Cool, simple and nice.

You could give google reverse image search a try

My friend's steam client had a bug which caused my avatar to show up as this, he sent a picture of it to me and I liked it better than my real/old one.
