it did with me ;) , i had thi problem one time where nothing load for me so i cleaned the cache and cookies with ccleaner and it worked fine again

try turning addons off? (help > troublshooting info > restart with addons disabled button that appears in top-right) i just leave a tab with steam logged in and a tab with sg logged in... i'm in linux right now (firefox v80.0) and it never kicked me out... but will try to test full log off / log back in later on windows if no one else has (waiting on some very large steam downloads to finish installing).

I'm currently using Firefox 80.0.1 and haven't had any issue, although I only have 3 addons right now so no clue if the last update messed something on that side.
BTW SG never logs me out unless I stop using it for like a week, which I never do.

Do the following:
type (into the url bar):
about:profiles
This opens the built in profile-manger in firefox. There's also a button to restart the browser without addons. Try that one first, so you'll know whether or not one of your addons is causing the problem. If it's not an addon, it's probably your cache or cookies. To check that just create a new profile and launch it for testing.

Before you clean install, try doing a cookies/cache reset in the right order.
Close out of browser windows (especially SG), clear cookies, exit out of browser completely. Then restart Firefox.
Sometimes the problem will keep coming back if you clear cookies then revisit the site without exiting the browser. Exiting clears it properly.

sometimes when you got like 4 of em running this problem occurs only solution is to close them from task manager and run it again happend with my steam app too
