I'm thinking of changing my password on Steam.

Will I get locked out of trading and market? If I will, for how long?

What about email and secret question? The last time I changed these was in 2010 and email has never been touched.

According to Valve's website, changing your password will restrict you from trading and the market for 5 days. If your account hasn't had activity for more than 2 months, it's 30 days.

Edit: Disregard that. As madjoki pointed out, that's for resetting the password and not changing it.

This. Only change it when you either feel compromised or you have time for a break from trading.

Well, this sucks. I need to trade and use the market.

Yup, I can confirm this. Lost access to market and trade access for 5 days a few months back for this reason.

Also worth noting; changing your payment method (adding a new credit card, etc) will also result in a temporary lockout.
