if i re-buy an unactivated gift that i won would that make it like i activated it?

Hello steamgifters , i use this site daily
but when i first joined the site , i won a game and i didnt know that if i didnt activate it i would break the rules .
so if i buy it and activate it on my account would that make it like i activated the game that i won ?

By the way you can close your own threads by clicking the green open button in the upper right corner and selecting close ;)
