Oh no :( My dad and I used to watch Smokey and the Bandit all the time when I was a kid. I didn't' realize how old he was. R.I.P and thanks for the childhood memories.

RIP, Burt. You'll always be the Bandit to me. [note: I even used to drive a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am that was very similar to the one in the 2nd movie...it's basically the model that came out right between the first and second Smokey and the Bandit movies.]

I know Burt mostly from one of his worst films, Cop & ½ (average IMDB score: 3.9/10). I had a VHS of this film in my childhood and have seen it ~10 times. I thought it was a decent comedy ;)
