or we just like to be immersed in the games with a bigger screen. not to mention once you have a big screen you can't go back to using a smaller one.

23" 16:9 at 2048x1152. I was pretty cross that 16:10 displays were becoming rarer, and losing 120 horizontal lines by going 1080p would have a negative effect on my productivity. Luckily, this monitor existed at the time, and the resolution was a decent compromise. It's a good panel for gaming and multimedia, though I wouldn't really use it for coding (even though that was the main reason I wanted the higher resolution) or working with documents/spreadsheets just because the gloss finish can be annoying if there's a window behind you (like in my case). But I was coming from a matte notebook display, so maybe my expectations were different.
