if you get the dota 2 branded headset from valve it comes with a dota 2 in game item that people will probably pay the equivalent of what you paid for the headset itself. soo free headset :D everybody wins

A lot of people say that Turtle Beaches are overrated, that is true in some cases. But I bought the Turtle Beach Z11 headset. It's probably the best you can find for only $30. It had an excellent microphone and excellent speakers. It's feels very good on my head, it even had a head cushion. The price for it is $30. It also has very good build quality. I love it for gaming, but this headset is the worst for music. The music on them is really messed up and distorted. My $5 coby headphones are better than it for music that the Turtle Beaches. Overall it's great for gaming but terrible for music.
Edit: Sorry, it doesn't have USB, but trust me, it's great for gaming.

Okay, Turtle Beach's are definitely not the best. But I really enjoyed this headset. A lot of them are crap, but honestly I truly this headset.

Read the damn thing. A good headset comes with bad. Because your not supposed to use huge ass Turtle Beaches while running an listening to music. They're good for gaming, but a piece of shit for music.

The second thing is that not everyone has tons of money piled up in their damn house. I am below middle class, and you get what you payed for $30. Ya think the OP is rich as hell buying all these overated Dr. dre crap. If he was rich he would go to a damn store and the most expensive headset.

If 5$ headphones are better for music than the $30 Turtle Beaches then the Turtle Beaches are complete crap. A good gaming headset has two things: good headphones and a good mic. It's very tough to find these in a headset. Usually you'll get an inferior version of both and pay a premium because they're packaged together in a nice form factor.
My setup (much more expensive) is a pair of Shure SE535s for my headphones and an over the ear mic I picked up for $30.

Already been said before, but the Plantronics GameCom 780 is excellent. I use it every day for a good 8 hours, of which 4 are without removing, and it's never given me any problems at all. $60 on Amazon or $80 for the Dota 2 branded one. (Bleh)

+33, I have Siberia V2 frost blue and I can honestly say that it's the best headset I've ever had, cost me about 109€ (you can probably get cheaper than this depending where you live) but if OP gets the one with out LEDs it's about 10€ cheaper. The bass of these bad boys is amazing and don't even get me started on the 7.1 virtual surround sound. Just get a pair of these Milan22 and you won't have to kill anyone.
Ps. Mine has USB.
