You're able to create up to 4 additional gifts based on your giveaway feedback.

This is the message what I am getting when I'm trying to make a new ga with 5 copies of the same game/dlc.
This was the limit when I had 3 ga-s, and after I made my 4th (and it marked as received) I still have this same limit.
All the info about this giveaway limitation I found is in the FAQ:

Why is there a limit to the number of gifts I'm able to give away?
We limit the number of gifts a user can create for security purposes, and to prevent a new user from potentially posting a large number of invalid gifts to the site. When you create giveaways and your gifts are received, this number will increase, and you'll be rewarded with the ability to create giveaways with a greater number of copies, or more simultaneous giveaways.

  • I'm not a new user.
  • 5 is not really a large number of ga-s imho.
  • Why would someone post invalid ga-s when all of their previous ones were valid?
  • My gift got received, still the limit did not increase.
  • Is it really a reward that you can make more ga-s?

tl;dr -> the limitation of new ga making is way too low.

Limit on the GA creation system now...

View Results
is too high, users should host only 1 ga at once.
is fine, don't need to change that.
is too low! Please increase it!
I never create ga-s, so I doesn't ca... Oh wait, that means I can also see less ga-s!

i don't know how they calculate that, sure level doesn't matter cause i'm level 2 also but can create 5 giveaways now that i checked.

Yeah, there should be some more info available about this.

Also I'd really like to hear those ppls opinions who are voting for the "is fine" option.
Like how many they can create at once, etc.

Same as the old site, every three successful "received" giveaways adds one more giveaway slot.

Thanks for the clarification! Now this should be in the FAQ.

So I should rather give out $1 dlc-s than a $20 game I did. Will be good to remember...

I THINK you can ask the support to increase it in special cases (like now you want to give multiple copies).

Once someone has shown they are capable to make a good giveaway, there shouldn't be a limit anymore.
So let's say after 10 successful giveaways, please remove the limit.

I can understand why it's there for new users. And most old users got enough slots by this time to not be affected by it.
But I could never understand why the mid-group gets limited like this. What does it matter if they can make 5 giveaways or 30?

Lot of members in my group are constantly hitting the ceiling on how many giveaways they can make.
Really annoying if you want to make for instance 8 giveaways and you are only allowed 5.

There are plenty of cases where a user starts out fine, then starts gifting free games, region-restricted games, etc... then they get stopped by the limit as their giveaways are deleted, as intended.

Trust me, I just went through all 300 "Increase Giveaway Limit" tickets the past two days. The system in place works.

Ok I trust you on that.
However at the same time I also see good members getting limited by this. I just wonder if there isn't a way where good members aren't affected by this so much.

Complete more giveaways => Be allowed to create more giveaways.

It seems slow at first but it doesn't take long for the limit to start increasing dramatically. A few weeks and one could be conceivably be running a dozen giveaways at once.

I am fine with however it is set. I can giveaway 23 at a time currently. I understand that if I muck something up, that numbers goes down. I am fine with that also. But I can see how some people may get mad that they cannot give enough away at once. I have never ever seen such a person before in real life get mad for being restricted to only a certain amount of charity being given at once. But I do understand. Maybe try keeping with how it is set and keep giving away games that get marked as received, I am sure you will granted additional slots from doing that.

So - if I understand right - if a user makes a mistake and removing it (deleting ga) right after when they notice, they will lose 1 slot of ga-creation? Is that temporary or persistent?

Deleting a giveaway removes a giveaway slot permanently.

That is good to know thank you. I was also unsure about this, as having never had to delete a giveaway, nor the process involved. If support has to get involved and delete it, well then, everything in this life costs something. Which is why there is a confirm screen to review your giveaway and correct any errors before posting it live.

Seems everyone already covered everything you need to know.

I just want to point out that you can also attempt sending a support ticket to increase your giveaway slots count, but you must have a good reason, and at least a few ended giveaways already.

I'm afraid I don't understand why you seem to be so upset about it. Why not just create some now and the rest later? Why necessary all at the same time?

It's OK, I have no problem with it now, as I learned how it works and why the limit is necessary.

I mainly opened this thread as I did not understand why my limit was not increasing after a finished GA, and I couldn't find much info about this.

I think system is fine. It's not like you can't wait untill later for new ones.

Also as said the amount increases as you have more received. So it will fix itself eventually. I do admit that it should be in faq.

You're able to create up to 69 additional gifts based on your giveaway feedback.

I think it's generous enough as it is. The more giveaways you make, the more slots open up for you. (one for every three successful giveaways)

Maybe I could do a 69 copies giveaway of Leisure Suit Larry, or one of the Sakura game. :P

I currently have 173 open slots, and 3 slots with running giveaways. Just keep gifting.

I find doing lots of bundle giveaways is a cheap method to boost the slots.
