Do you read descriptions in giveaways?
Well I always read the descriptions, but the thing is that I usually don't join public giveaways. :o

But then I'm also one of those folks who uses GA descriptions as another place to shitpost hide further GAs and such

I always take the time to read what someone else has taken the time to type, it's common courtessy ( I cant speel ). I may not have anything to say in responce, but I do read every one.

Generally I would expect forumgoers read them but loads of people ignore forums and any form of human interaction.
That would be the group that entered and doesn't read/care. Probably also people with 'auto-enter' scripts etc.

I'm here because of a comment in a GA, which was hidden in the descriptions of a public GA. This probably says everything ; )

I did the same just now, A regular GA for Metro Redux, with Mad Max, Warhammer: Vermintide II, and PUBG available as wagons if entrants read the description. Only about 12% did....

The results are flawed if you use different games instead of all the same one. People who already own metro are unlikely to view the giveaway.

True enough, it's not 'proper' science. But if you look at how many joined for an old game, the entry numbers to the (somewhat) newer games was surprisingly low to me.

Some neat giveaways out there, I read descriptions 80 - 90 % of the time, depending on the time I could spare, distractions, and whether I am on my phone or sitting in my comfy chair, in front of a 23 inches computer screen.
But it's true enough, very few people among those entering public giveaways ever read descriptions. This must be disheartening for those who use descriptions to promote content/a worthwhile cause or simply want to increase visibility.

I always pay attention, most of the time I do read them, sometimes I just hover them. As said before, there could be some important info there or a hidden giveaway :D
