Do you have it?
I've had it for years, and I can only sleep with any type of noise. The sound varies in pitch, sometimes like a beep, buzz, or ring.

I was born with it. Permanent, full time. both ears. Essentially a very very high pitched noise.
I'm told it's much worse for people that develop it later in life. I guess because I had it young it's easier for my brain to "filter it out".
It still stinks. I don't think it's easy to explain to people what it's like to never, ever experience peace and quiet and the effect that can have on you.

High pitched hissing sound, with a sort of tingling sound effect, like something electronic. Sometimes a whooshing sound like wind blowing in trees....very rarely a pure tone. I've had it for the majority of my life now, and it's like an old but annoying friend XD

Yes, yes, it's a pain in the ass, hard to sleep, concentrate and all that shit, but every time I know someone with it I have to ask how it sounds to him.
It's like a really shitty patronus.
Mine sound like a big group of birds getting mad for something.
