Database fail or ? (SG Gift Received status)

So, logged in today into SG to check if the guy who won Guardians of middle earth DLC marked the gift as received. I got an email from him that he got the gift, however 2 weeks have passed and he still havent marked it as received

Anyway, thats not the deal here. What I noticed is that suddenly one of my other gifts (Awesomenauts DLC) changed its status. It was gifted 3 weeks ago and the user marked the gift as received. What I saw today is that the status changed to "Awaiting user response" - and thus on my profile there is one more "awaiting feedback" gift.

What you guys think, is this some sort of database failure or the guy who won this Awesomenatus DLC suddenly decided to unmark the gift as received ??

Well, but why actually anyone would do this ? I sent him the gift, he marked it as received and so he got the gift. 3 weeks passed and he suddenly decided to unmark this ? Kinda...weird

That happened to me but only passed 1 day, he received the gift, marked as "received" and later he decided to unmark it. I've emailed him again and he re-marked it as received.

Not a db issue. Contact the winner, could have been an accident, or they could have encountered a problem with the gift.

If no response, contact support with the winner's username and proof the gift was delivered to them.

Problem with the gift ? I doubt it....the GA ended 3 weeks ago and the winner received the gift and marked it as received. So first, he marked the gift as received without checking it ? And second, I thought there was some sort of security that you cant access SG if you won a gift, accepted and had a private profile (at least that happened to me, after winning a gift I had to "update" my SG profile by making the steam profile public, otherwise I was not able to access SG)

Also, no point in contacting the support...I dont have any "proof" cus it was 3 weeks ago and the email I sent to the winner was already long ago deleted :)

Overall not a big deal, I just wanted to know what happened

For what it's worth, I have seen someone unmark as received before (and change it back to awaiting response) to try and hide the fact that they won the game (from the general SG public) because they were trying to trade it on Steamtrades (I had actually found the thread too).

I see...and well, it was DLC and afaik the SG have some problems with checking if a person owns DLC (heck, I was able to join some giveaways for a DLC's that I owned)
