It's the 7-day free trial, so it won't work if you already have an account (I think, if that's what you did). Sorry about the confusion, and/or broken code! Editing my original post for clarity. If you still want it, I will make another account for another for another try at that code :D

ohhh, no worries, my internet is too bad at this moment. I was hoping it was like Guild Wars, where you pay once, and it's in your steam library. God, I want someone to do a giveaway for that.

Nope, Rift is a monthly subscription MMO ($15/mo), just like WoW. Also, all updating and downloading is done through Rift's patch client, so it shouldn't really matter if you get it through Steam or another method. The 7-day trial is good for downloading the game client and getting patched initially without wasting subscription time at least.

It is through and through a WoW clone, but is one of the most polished ones out there. The amount of content in the game is about equivalent to vanilla WoW (i.e. without expansions).
