you joined 200 games, some people didn't even win before entering their 2000th game, lvl 0 means everyone can enter so yes, it's harder to win something but not impossible
I have just as much chance of winning a lvl 0 game as you do and I won multiple lvl 0 games in my time here.

200 giveaways is nothing. You have a chance to win, doing almost nothing but clicking on a button, and still you complain. Unbelievable.

Level 5-6 are filled with same bundled games, sometimes just as shit as others. Seen quite some whitelist GA for bundle trash as well.though you can increase your chances and the selection by getting to level 1-2, and/or looking for trains and puzzles.
Also, sg is not part of steamtrades at all. Was the other way around, but now they are two separate sites.

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt. It's natural to have questions and simple answers can help remove doubts better than pointing fingers. Also a positive attitude does wonders.

I understand why someone new would create a topic like this. But I was referring mainly to his comment in this thread - https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/dCtegh7

Gotta say that I am actually impressed by how the OP turned out in the end - https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/lGMpTUr
Guess I shouldn't be so fast to judge as everyone can have a bad time and end up coming of as a different person.

I'm level 5 and it's been more than 3 months since my last win. You just need to enter a lot more giveaways because the chances are quite slim at best depending on the number of participants. Level 0 has the lowest winning chances because of the higher number of participants. You just weren't "lucky" enough to be picked by the RNG, that's all. Keep it up and you'll eventually win.

It's simple math. If you enter giveaways that have maybe 1000 entries on average, you can't expect to already have won something after just 200 entries. It can happen, but you would have to consider yourself lucky then. It's all about probability. I can assure you, though, that the winners are chosen at random. Every participant gets the same chance.
It took me around 800 entries before I got my first win. And I was already level 1 or 2 (don't quite remember, and CV was handled differently back then anyway).

Level doesn't matter if you're entering level 0 giveaways. Most giveaways have hundreds or thousands of entries but only 1 copy. You're unlikely to win. You can increase your chances by entering giveaways with only a few entries (<99 entries for instance) or giveaways with multiple copies of a game (a recent giveaway had 10,000 copies).

How about making a giveaway? Sometimes it helps the RNG when you give to the community. As for the games you wouldn't pay for you see, some of them are actually better than the big name AAA games you are looking for. Give some a try. You might just be surprised and you might just learn something.
It also does take time to win sometimes. I'm a little over 40K entries in the almost 5 years I've been here and just won my 188th GA yesterday. But before that, my last win was on July 11th. JULY11! A month. So it takes patience and time. Plus a little greasing the wheels for spacecat too. :P

i believe you will win soon if you want a bigger chance try unlucky 7 they are a group of people who havent won 7 games. but yeah just keep entering you will gradually win. lower amount of entries will help but my 1st 3 wins were lvl 0 and 1 of them had 14500 entries. i wish you luck in winning something. also i cant hate on your 200 entries. its different for everyone i won in my 1st week. while there are others like someone put below took like a year. but as i said before i wish you luck in winning before you turn old and grey

A I stated before. Some of those, as you call them, garbage cereal box games can turn out to be better than some of those AAA games you only seem to want. You aren;t going to see CoD or Fallout or Skyrim here all the time. Wishlist games are, by far, the hardest ones to win. Trust me on this.

That "garbage cereal box game" is bought and/or given away by someone else not expecting such entitlement and ungratefulness in return. Maybe a change in attitude won't hurt you. I gave you the benefit of the doubt and tried to be helpful but maybe you didn't deserve it in the first place. You should try to put a bit of thought into it before calling other people's good intentions "garbage".

I'm actually pretty sure that most of the people who give away those "garbage games" are well aware that those are in fact garbage. So I don't feel calling those games what they are is necessarily ungrateful or anything.

I've entered over 200 giveaways and NOT 1 game was won
hehe i won first game after year and half of entering, month ago i won game, before i had year and 3 months withnout single win... this is bothersome and idk if it even worth my time to click "enter" anymore, wait another year? :D overall am here 5 years, won 25 games while here are guys 1 year and won 250 games...
but yes i agree, winning games with lvl 0 is meh, anyway ur level is 0 too and u would like to get smth?

Of course you can win at level 0. However, 200+ entries and expecting to win something already is a bit unrealistic. If you want to improve your chances, try not being picky about the giveaways you enter because newer and popular games can have thousands of entries along with yours, as well as entering some of those 50+ game giveaways. (Think of the odds of winning the lottery jackpot. It is all completely random.) In addition, you might want to start giving away games yourself, especially if you want to raise your current level.

Several people, including support, have already stated that your level has nothing to do with your chance of winning, and that everyone has an equal chance. Why are you still going on about this? If the system were rigged, people would have noticed, and you'd have lots of people siding with you here. Making such a harsh claim after such a short time and with only 200 entries is silly.

Quick question: Any of the 200 GAs you've entered had less than 200 entries?

My eyes are bleeding in front of this butchered statistics. It totally doesn't work like that.

Yeah, Im no expert at math but I wondered how the hell 0,2% chance of winning 200 times resulted in a total of 1/3 chance of winning something at all.

Seemed high to me but got the same number when I googled to find a good forumula. :)
1-(1-(1/500))^200 = ~33%

Statistics was never my strongest class, could you please enlighten me? I know the average is not technically correct as it does depend on the actual entries per giveaway, but it should be close enough assuming the entries were close to 500 and 1000.
(499/500) ^200 is the odds of winning 0 out of 200 giveaways with 500 entries each, which is 67%. That makes the odds of winning something 33% or 1 in 3. Or so I thought
Comment has been collapsed.
It totally does!
Chance to win one giveaway with 500 entries: P = 1/500 = 0.002
Chance to not win that giveaway Q = 1 - 1/500 = 0.998
To calculate the probability along a tree diagram, you have to multiple.
So the probability to win if as follows (500 entries each):
The first of two giveaways: 0.002 (win the first one) * 0.998 (not win the second one) = 0.001996 about 0.2%
The second of two giveaways: 0.998 (not win the first one) * 0.002 (win the second one) = 0.001996 about 0.2%
=> Win exactly one of two giveaways (addition here): about 0.4%
Win both giveaways: 0.002 * 0.002 = 0.000004 = 0.0004%
Not win any of those two giveaways: 0.998 * 0.998 = 0.998^2 = 0.996004 = 99.6004%
So lets do that 200 time: 0.998^200 = about 0,67 = 67% not to win any of the 200 giveaways. Complementary there is a 33% chance to win one or more giveaways.
Edit: Like someone said above "basic math".

If we only resort to common sense, to win something in GAs with 500 entries, you need to enter 500 times. But that's not how statistics works.

Wait... You STILL have faith in humanity? Well, I guess someone has to.

You certainly have reduced the chances of even being able to enter GAs by the way you worded your posts.
