Gas stove was okay for making food, but yes - it was a little weird. Had to boil water in a pan for instant coffee (3in1), because we didn't wanted to open a milk because the fridge wasn't working. It was manageble, plus it was quite warm, so we used our warm water for kind of lukewarm-shower, it was just good for the temperature :D The hardest thing to tolerate was the relative silence - I couldn't listen to music, because my old mp4 player just that day ran out of charge. And the darkness - it was almost impossible to read at natural light about 8pm, and I hav a biorythm with sleeping at about midnight-1AM - it was really, really boring. At the second night I read at candlelight :D :D

We was told there haven't been such a huge strom in Budapest so far, so they were unprepared, 40k households were cut off from electricity in the city of ~ 2M inhabitants, to we was just unlucky. It happens that electricity goes off during bigger storms (we have incradible heatwave during the summer OR blizzard with 2cm big ice globes) but it usually lasts for 2-3 hours tops, - so it's was rather an exception :)

Budapest?
Oh WOW i thought we are talking about rural region. Than it was def. an exception. :D
Only heard the best from Budapest. Must be a beautiful city with a great mix between classic and modern.

As every bigger city it has shadier and outstanding parts of it, but it's definitely a lot to see here. I'm planning to re-discover the city, but on rather a cultural-gastronomy side. There's aa bakery where the main baker sometimes makes bread with red wine! Or sauerkraut! Or whatever he's in the mood for, with outstanding quality. Now, I'd like to get to know some of the similarly intresting, under-the-radar places :)
