I just put this out there

So NVIDIA GTX960 is getting a 4GB VRAM edition. Do you think that NVIDIA after the GTX970 3.5gb fiasco will release a Ti version, or a new version of GTX970 with 6gb VRAM?

  • 2015? Nothing
  • 2016? 970 Ti
  • 2017? 6 Gb new card (that's 6.0 Gb, not 5.5, they won't be so stupid again I guess)

If they gonna release a 970 Ti they are not going to wait till 2016 imo.

2015.5 then?

Well nowadays tech makes some crazy leaps crazy fast... They launched 970 and 980, 3-4 months later the 960, now a couple of months later the Titan X is on the way, so they might launch a 970 Ti on 2015 Q4

970 cards do have 4GB, it's just that 0.5GB of that is uncached. Only thing NVIDIA will do is release a driver which tries to minimise the impact of that even further and to next time provide more information up front.
