Apparently the US Airforce sponsered the release of 3 games as freeware.
http://extcamp.doublefusion.com/US_Air_Force/Game_Download_Sponsored_by_Air_Force.htm
One being The Suffering, the other being http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_51_(2005_video_game) The download link for it is in the wiki article http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/area51/full-game/26957.html
And the other being Rise & Fall: Civilizations At War http://www.gamershell.com/news_61804.html
All Midway titles I believe.

some may require UBI.com accounts to download, I haven't tried. Was looking for other rereleased midway games when I stumbled upon this.

Hey guys you can't forget some of the Command & Conquer series games.
Old ones, but classics and a few people are still caught playing online :)

some stuff i just found:
Minecraft Demo: Current Version, fully playable. Every map locks up after 90 minutes though. Doesn't stop you from creating a new map. Share this with people you wanna get interested into Minecraft:

Back to the Future the game, Episode 1 FREE:

Update: seems to work, but a (free?) telltale games account is required.
The free copy of ME2 for DA2 owners doesn't seem to work anymore.

Seems nice, thank you for sharing. Also, cult, you could just make a new thread and grab all these freebies, putting them in the 1st post. Nice, eh? :D

Nice list! Most of these games are F2P games though. DO you know of any games that have gone freeware, like the ones cult has posted?

Oh, The Suffering is brilliant as it can scare the hell out of people like Penumbra or Amnesia.

I found these a while ago, and I think that each and every person here deserves to be rewarded for being so nice and generous. A while ago, some companies made their games free-to-play with ads, but the ad servers are long since down. But, the games work fine. So, I present two of my favorite games, free full versions with no ads to you ALL:
The Suffering
Details on the game here
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
Details on the game here
Also, Bungie released the Marathon Trilogy a while back, go here to grab it, and grab this to play it.
Enjoy, and keep being awesome.
